I don\u2019t think anyone\u2019s been dehumanized like she has consistently. I watched this one guy, Jesse Watters or something on Fox News, and what he\u2019s been saying about Paul Pelosi the last five, six months, mocking him consistently. Don\u2019t tell me that\u2019s not aiding and abetting all of this. Of course it is,\u201d Newsom argued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re sowing the seeds, they\u2019re creating a culture and climate like this,\u201d the California Governor continued. \u201cI mean, look online. Look at the sewage that is online that they amplify on these networks and in social media to dehumanize people like Nancy Pelosi and other political leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watters responded during his Monday evening broadcast of \u201cJesse Watters Reports,\u201d saying, \u201cGavin Newsom thinks if you mock a Democrat, it puts them on a target list. We\u2019ve always said, Gavin\u2019s biggest flaw? He\u2019s not very smart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newsom was far from the only person to blame Republicans in the aftermath of the attack. President Joe Biden argued that rhetoric from the far right was driving more people to political violence \u2014 and MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell claimed that the man who allegedly attacked Pelosi was driven by the same rhetoric that had led to the January 6th riot on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n<p>CBS anchor Margaret Brennan took things a bit further during Sunday morning\u2019s broadcast of \u201cFace the Nation,\u201d asking Congressman Tom Emmer (R-MN) whether Republican ads blaming Pelosi for years of bad policies might be pushing more people toward violence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomemmer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TomEmmer<\/a> calls out the media for trying to blame Republican rhetoric for the Paul Pelosi attack. <\/p>\n<p>Why didn\u2019t they blame Dems when a Bernie Sanders supporter shot Steve Scalise? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Ko6iTLZ4UM\">pic.twitter.com\/Ko6iTLZ4UM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mike Berg (@MikeKBerg) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikeKBerg\/status\/1586744629470314499?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never saw anyone, after Steve Scalise was shot by a Bernie Sanders supporter \u2014\u201d Emmer said, but Brennan interrupted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m talking about right now!\u201d she said. \u201cIt just is happening now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201d \u2014 equate Democrat rhetoric with those actions,\u201d Emmer continued. \u201cPlease don\u2019t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, no, okay,\u201d Brennan pushed back. \u201cLooking at your candidates, Republican candidates have spent more than $116 million on ads that mention Speaker Pelosi by name in this cycle. If this is about the issues, why shouldn\u2019t you make it about the issues?
