Going into Turn 1, Jones used his bumper to move Gibbs up the track and forced a three-wide battle with Noah Gragson at the top.<\/p>\n<p>They would stay three wide down the back stretch and going into turns three and four. Gibbs would ride Gragson up the track sending him backwards while Sheldon Creed gave Jones a boost to propel him to the lead down the front stretch.<\/p>\n<p>After taking the white flag and going back down into Turn 1, Gibbs ran into the rear of Jones sending him spinning into the outside wall and bringing out the caution. He responded, \u201cI definitely didn\u2019t want to wreck him, but I wanted to get him out of the groove. I felt like we lost earlier in the spring race just in the same way, but I\u2019m just pumped to get this win. And it\u2019s so awesome. Especially a track I feel like I\u2019ve been coming to forever. I ran late models here and it\u2019s super cool to win here. \u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Gibbs would go on to further justify his action in the post-race press conference saying, \u201cAt that point, after I feel like we got shoved out of the way for the lead and I wanted to do a teammate restart. I felt like that was racing. We\u2019re racing for a win after that. So that\u2019s my logic on it.<\/p>\n<p>He later noted, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t take the fact that I took him out of the championship, but I\u2019m racing for a win after that after I got moved and that\u2019s part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs then added, \u201cI definitely didn\u2019t want to crash him, but I wanted to move him. So that\u2019s what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Jones shared his own thoughts saying, \u201cI had the race won, I think. I don\u2019t know. I love my guys. I love everyone on this 19 group, but I\u2019m excited to make my move to JRM and make sure to be a part of that organization and a little bit more respect over there probably given next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m excited for that, now. We\u2019ve got one race left, Phoenix. I know we can go out there and win that and shake up this up a little bit still yet. Try to steal a little thunder there so. I don\u2019t know, man, I have no words. I mean I guess at the end of the day I needed to win the race so I think for second and last it is what it is, but just expected to have a little bit more of a shot at it there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think, that to me, that\u2019s what\u2019s fun in this sport, is having a duel not just completely destroying somebody\u2019s day,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Jones was also asked what he had planned to get even with Gibbs. He answered, \u201cI don\u2019t know, man. I think that he\u2019s made plenty of friends out here on the race track. So time will tell, man.
