The point, he said, was that it couldn\u2019t be questioned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very possible that the instantly formed media narrative \u2014 Paul Pelosi\u2019s attacker was a MAGA fanatic who broke in to murder Nancy \u2014 will be proven true. But right now there are so many glaring doubts and holes in that story that it just takes common sense to question this,\u201d Greenwald began.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s genuinely alarming how conditioned so much of the US population is to equate skepticism toward the pronouncements of media corporations with mental illness:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you don&#8217;t instantly accept what Wolf Blitzer and Andrea Mitchell claim, then you&#8217;re a crazy conspiracy theorist.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ggreenwald\/status\/1586712005192388611?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s genuinely alarming how conditioned so much of the U.S. population is to equate skepticism toward the pronouncements of media corporations with mental illness: \u2018If you don\u2019t instantly accept what Wolf Blitzer and Andrea Mitchell claim, then you\u2019re a crazy conspiracy theorist.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greenwald went on to explain that even journalists who had questions about the prevailing narrative \u2014 on any topic \u2014 often felt as though they couldn\u2019t say anything without risking their jobs or even their entire careers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so crucial to understand the dynamic dominating journalism. Few journalists have career security,\u201d Greenwald continued. \u201cImagine you\u2019re a young journalist at a big media corporation. You know if you ask these questions, Twitter will explode and it can ruin your career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then shared a tweet from Steve Krakauer that included just a few of the questions he thought media ought to be asking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy wasn\u2019t there signs of forced entry at Pelosi home?\u201d\u201cWho was 3rd person who opened door for police?\u201d\u201cWhy was Pelosi holding hammer and attack only happened after police arrived?\u201d\u201cWhere is bodycam\/security footage?\u201d\u201cWhy isn\u2019t the press asking these questions?\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This happened often during Russiagate: I got texts\/DMs\/emails from younger journalists inside big media corporations thanking me for being skeptical. They couldn&#8217;t.
