Steven Horsford<\/a> (D-NV) of trying to strongarm her into silence in a devastating tweet thread.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just minding my business until Steven and his attorney demanded I sign an NDA that would ban me from speaking about my 22-year marriage, his 10-year affair, and our divorce FOREVER,\u201d Douglass wrote. \u201cIt includes $10,000 fines for each remark or social post. Even to a therapist! Who looks through the trash after you\u2019ve taken it out? But I don\u2019t respond well to bullying or intimidation so here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair married in 2000, and it is not clear if they are now officially divorced. On Saturday, Douglass <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/drsonyadouglass\/status\/1586369939811622912\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a> that she would be released \u201cfrom this never-ending nightmare\u201d as soon as Horsford signs the divorce papers. In 2020, Horsford, who is seeking a third term representing parts of Las Vegas in the upcoming election, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-congressman-steven-horsford-admits-sex-scandal-with-ex-senate-intern-resignation-calls-grow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted to a more than a decade-long extramarital affair<\/a> with Gabriela Linder, a former intern of the late Democrat Senate Majority Leader Senator Harry Reid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollcall.com\/2020\/05\/21\/horsfords-extramarital-affair-with-former-senate-staffer-shows-how-narrow-house-rules-are\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linder claimed<\/a> Horsford \u201coffered her financial support, introduced her to political connections and filmed a segment for her young son\u2019s YouTube show using his congressional staff.\u201d Horsford admitted paying Linder with funds from a company he controlled.<\/p>\n<p>Horsford, a member of the House Congressional Progressive Caucus, is currently running against Republican challenger Sam Peters, a retired Air Force major and Bronze Star recipient. Pollsters currently categorize the race as \u201clean Democrat,\u201d but with Republicans building momentum around the nation and a potential \u201cred wave\u201d taking shape, the devastating claim by Douglass comes at a bad time for Horsford.<\/p>\n<p>In the Silver State, incumbent Governor Steve Sisolak is trailing Republican challenger Joe Lombardo and current Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, is behind in the polls to Republican challenger Adam Laxalt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only thing Steven Horsford does well is lie,\u201d Peters\u2019 campaign tweeted days before Douglass came forward.<\/p>\n<p>Douglass alluded to a possible loss by Horsford in a subsequent tweet that also hinted Horsford had been violent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he\u2019s already blaming me should he lose his race,\u201d she wrote. \u201cRefuses to take responsibility for his own actions.
