The \u201canti-hero\u201d version of the singer then looks at herself with disappointment, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/taylor-swift-anti-hero-video-fat-scale-scene-cut-after-backlash-1235161678\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billboard magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the original video, the \u201cShake It Off\u201d hitmaker and the \u201canti-hero\u201d version of herself look down at the scale and read the message \u201cFat\u201d with no numbers shown. In the stealth version, Swift steps onto the scale, both version\u2019s of herself look down, and the scale shows no message.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Shortly after the video came out, critics labeled the singer \u201cfatbphobic\u201d and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaylor Swift\u2019s music video, where she looks down at the scale where it says \u2018fat,\u2019 is a s***ty way to describe her body image struggles. Fat people don\u2019t need to have it reiterated yet again that it\u2019s everyone\u2019s worst nightmare to look like us,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is possible to appreciate Taylor Swift and midnight as an artist AND call her out on her blatant fatphobia,\u201d another added. \u201cTaylor Swift should have done better because even if it is relatable and an \u2018intrusive thought\u2019 it is damaging and fatphobic. Listen to fat ppl when they tell you it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no explanation for portraying fatness as bad and as something to fear which doesn\u2019t justify the hatred of fat people,\u201d another explained.<\/p>\n<p>While another person tweeted, \u201cfearing fatness is a basic pinnacle of how fatphobia operates.
