In it, Bianca deals with being a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/fat-acceptance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plus-sized<\/a> dancer.<\/p>\n<p>Bianca\u2019s teacher first checks her position at the barre, reminding her \u201cTight tummy! Long neck!\u201d As the young dancer observes herself standing next to all the other thin ballet dancers, the mirror shatters as the plus-sized child grapples with body image. She emerges from this place of fractured glass by dancing and becoming more confident, eventually returning to the dance class with the other students.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">An all-new Short Circuit Experimental Film has arrived! I feel like I\u2019m a very body positive person in principle, but when it\u2019s on a personal level, it\u2019s a lot harder to be body positive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She described choosing ballet as the setting, saying, \u201cTelling this story from a dancer\u2019s perspective seemed just natural and it\u2019s part of the craft to be looking at your posture and checking things in the mirror. So it just seemed like a really good way to put her in that environment where she has to look at herself and she doesn\u2019t want to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen people watch this short, I hope that they can feel more positively about themselves and how they look, and feel OK about the tough parts of the journey,\u201d Bradfield concluded. \u201cYou know, maybe sometimes you go to the dark place to get to the good place, and that just makes the good place that much more beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fans have mostly good things to say about \u201cReflect\u201d and how the main character is plus sized.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c16 year old me needed this Disney short before I quit ballet because I didn\u2019t want to be the fat girl in class anymore. I\u2019m glad little ones will have this. 10\/10 for Reflect!\u201d one person <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MeganPotter_\/status\/1585066473927503872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw this Disney short called Reflect and it emotionally tore me up,\u201d another <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/katelandiaa\/status\/1579345522057707520\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s about a little plus size girl doing ballet and the mirrors start to swallow her up because of her body insecurity but she destroys them by dancing anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTHIS IS NOT A DRILL! Disney+ FINALLY made a short with a Plus Size lead! It\u2019s called Reflect and it\u2019s part of the Short Circuit short series.
