Here Norton inverts an infamous <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/fiery-but-peaceful-protest-cnn\/\">CNN chyron<\/a>, arguing that the\u00a0 riots were violent but mostly-non-fiery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As if this wasn\u2019t embarrassing enough, Norton also tries to argue that antifa actually-sort of-technically doesn\u2019t exist, as there\u2019s no formal organization called \u201cantifa.\u201d Was he expecting a violent left-wing group to register a 501(c)(3)?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"528\" src=\"https:\/\/cndimages.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/27111910\/T4PgyCDeaIfmhEs6k0YiCHC9lh2Wb1QS6k_E43WwuzWPjLTyzRuThzR0k3QZrbuxkzp-kAVMV60JQSIyUv8XFKHQBiBmJjNMy4GIOc8WbvLJeNfIIilHBJ9cDMB_wJjmdDRQkpvg6CjWZVYdBp5ZNHBklmS5j8XsFNR_94YFd461RgMrqf9N44vl4Q\" width=\"624\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The illogic was widely mocked online, as is seemingly everything from the fact-checking industry nowadays.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Among those poking fun at the article was Ted Cruz himself:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"art\">\ud83e\udd23\ud83e\udd23\ud83e\udd23 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iRVFzCns2q\">https:\/\/t.co\/iRVFzCns2q<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tedcruz\/status\/1585332023866298369?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 26, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>MetaFactGroup, which is critical of the fact-checking industry, chimed in \u201cPerhaps the Boston Tea Party didn&#8217;t happen because there was no group known as &#8220;Boston Tea&#8221; to host said party.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Seriously, this &#8220;no organization\/group known as such&#8221; defense is laughable. The media insists Antifa is only an idea, not an organization.<br \/>1st: Even if we stipulate Antifa is just a set of ideas, what do we call it when a group of people who support such ideas riot?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MetaFactGroup (@fact_meta) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fact_meta\/status\/1585346266229137408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 26, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And Ted Cruz\u2019s National Security adviser Omri Ceren pointed out that Newsweek\u2019s own prior reporting on antifa\u2019s activities throughout 2020 preemptively debunks this \u201cfact-check.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Newsweek: Ted Cruz says Antifa burned US cities to the ground throughout 2020 but that&#8217;s FALSE because Antifa doesn&#8217;t exist.<\/p>\n<p>Also Newsweek: Antifa staged waves of demonstrations around the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Journalists you guys.
