As Breitbart News reported, the city was \u201crejecting requests for religious exemptions, such as from pro-life employees who objected to the vaccine because stem cell lines from aborted children were used in the vaccines\u2019 development.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>At the time, former Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) even bragged that thousands of city workers would ultimately be denied their requests for exemptions from the mandate.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cI think you\u2019ll see a number of people ultimately find that the exemption is not approved, and then they still have that chance to correct, get vaccinated, come back,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/02\/de-blasio-12000-nyc-workers-seeking-vaccine-exemptions-will-likely-be-denied\/\"><span>said<\/span><\/a> at the time, continuing to demonize those who refused to comply.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">However, on Tuesday a judge ruled these terminations were illegal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">As Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/26\/judge-orders-unvaccinated-new-york-city-employees-reinstated-rules-covid-19-firings-unconstitutional\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Justice Ralph Porzio of the New York Supreme Court in Staten Island held that these terminations are illegal. (The name is misleading, because in New York\u2019s court system, the lowest level of general jurisdiction courts is called the supreme court. It is simply the county court that conducts trials.) Specifically, Porzio held that the mandate is unconstitutional \u2014 for several reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Porzio wrote that \u201cwe shouldn\u2019t be penalizing the people who showed up to work, at great risk to themselves and their families, while we were locked down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the 13-page decision, New York City Health Commissioner David Chokshi\u2019s vaccine mandate \u201cviolates the separation of powers doctrine\u201d in the New York Constitution, and well as violating city workers\u2019 \u201csubstantive and procedural due process rights.\u201d The commissioner had no \u201cpower and authority to permanently exclude [those employees] from their workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Judge Porzio concluded, \u201cThe vaccine mandate for City employees was not just about safety and public health; it was about compliance.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Gov.
