Louisville did it against us and there was a couple guys that almost got speared because they almost ran into a couple of my teammates. It\u2019s never a good experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boundingintosports.com\/2022\/10\/fans-angry-as-alabama-head-coach-nick-saban-defends-jermaine-burton-says-he-didnt-think-it-was-necessary-to-bench-him\/\">Fans Angry As Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban Defends Jermaine Burton, Says He \u201cDidn\u2019t Think It Was Necessary\u201d To Bench Him<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McAfee, a former NFL punter himself, stated his confusion as to why Burton received no punishment of any kind, especially as his actions in the video clearly show him going out of his way to smack the woman in the head.<\/p>\n<p>Saban had said during a conference this week that he didn\u2019t think it was \u201cnecessary to suspend the guy\u201d and that Burton would instead start participating in a counseling program to learn how to \u201chave the proper respect for other people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I don\u2019t know how Saban doesn\u2019t punish that guy,\u201d said McAfee. \u201cI don\u2019t know how\u2013 just for the optics of it. Just for, you\u2019re playing Mississippi State. You\u2019re about to beat the hell out of him. Just as a message going forward. I think they put all of college football in a bad spot by not punishing him. In my eyes, I don\u2019t think Saban made the right play here. I think you have to at least do some sort of punishment. I\u2019m happy to hear the girl\u2019s OK but any time you put your hands on a woman I think it should be a message sent to everybody like \u2018Hey, we can\u2019t have that in our particular community, our society. It\u2019s not good for football. It\u2019s not good for our program. It\u2019s certainly not good for you as a human to think we could do that.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there should\u2019ve been some punishment and I have no idea how it goes moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Do you agree or disagree with Nick Saban\u2019s call not to punish Burton?
