You know, I mean, we&#8217;re talking about women\u00a0literally losing agency over\u00a0themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Putting aside the fact that pro-life laws are being enacted because the Supreme Court expanded democracy in <em>Dobbs<\/em>, Reid continued, \u201cDonald Trump has said you know where\u00a0he&#8217;s going to challenge the\u00a0election, already in advance,\u00a0he says he\u2019s going to do it? Philly.\u00a0That&#8217;s a dog whistle, right? I mean, that\u2019s a dog whistle, right? I mean, it&#8217;s not even being hidden at\u00a0this point, it&#8217;s just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/tim-graham\/2022\/10\/25\/study-air-msnbc-has-used-fascism-or-fascist-1614-times-so-far-2022\">fascism<\/a> in\u00a0the open, and what scares me is\u00a0that I&#8217;m not sure everybody\u00a0minds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Concluding her thoughts with a statement rather than a question, Reid proclaimed, \u201cYou know, I think there are some\u00a0people who will just sit back\u00a0and let it happen.\u00a0Thinking it won&#8217;t be that bad.\u00a0And that, to me, is almost more\u00a0dangerous than the radicals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite claiming he isn\u2019t comparing Republicans to Nazis, Dowd responded by comparing Republicans to Nazis, \u201cWell, I mean, I&#8217;m not\u00a0calling &#8212; I&#8217;m not going to say\u00a0that, you know, the GOP are Nazis at this\u00a0point or whatever, but it\u00a0certainly sounds very familiar\u00a0to what happened in Germany,\u00a0which is a bunch of citizens,\u00a0Adolf Hitler gets a third of the\u00a0vote, nobody thought it would\u00a0happen there, they went along because\u00a0he said he would solve the\u00a0economy and fix inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Reid interjected to add her agreement, \u201cyeah, that\u2019s right,\u201d Dowd continued, \u201cYou can hear those sorts of\u00a0things, and then, oh, lo and behold, a\u00a0few years later they lost their\u00a0democracy and they&#8217;re all like,\u00a0how did that happen here?\u00a0That&#8217;s my worry.\u00a0That is my worry.\u00a0Obviously, the price of a\u00a0hamburger, the price of milk,\u00a0the price of gas is concerning.\u00a0But what is&#8211; that is a short term\u00a0problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dowd concluded by declaring, \u201cThe loss of a democracy will\u00a0decimate everyone&#8217;s freedom.\u00a0I think this is &#8212; we shouldn&#8217;t\u00a0try to be saying you need to\u00a0adopt our culture or whatever it\u00a0happens to be.
