Croke wrote<em> <\/em>in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.repcroke.com\/2022\/09\/06\/september-2022-newsletter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">September newsletter<\/a> about using the bill to enshrine abortion and assisted reproductive technology (ART), such as serial embryo creation and destruction, as \u201cfundamental rights\u201d for all Illinoisans.<\/p>\n<p>In that same Sept. 6 release, Croke announced the birth of her daughter and even shared a picture of the newborn swaddled in a matching blanket and bow. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe big news from the month of August is that the 12th district gained a new constituent! My husband Patrick and I welcomed our daughter, Mary Pearl, to the family.\u00a0We are overjoyed, and PJ is handling his promotion to big brother well,\u201d Croke wrote.<\/p>\n<p>In the next paragraph, Croke detailed her plans to pass the bill that would strictly prohibit Illinois from interfering on behalf of unborn babies in the womb or life created in a petri dish.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat\u2019s legislation, specifically, seeks to amend the state\u2019s \u201cReproductive Health Act,\u201d a law granting residents on-demand abortions, to add ART to the list of \u201cfundamental rights\u201d all adults in the state can demand.<\/p>\n<p>That technology, according to the bill text, includes <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/25\/as-reproductive-technology-advances-remember-just-because-we-can-doesnt-mean-we-should\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in vitro fertilization<\/a>, gamete intrafallopian transfer, zygote intrafallopian transfer, embryo biopsy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/20\/health\/pgta-ivf-pregnancy-test.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">often yields incorrect results<\/a> and leads to <a href=\"https:\/\/thembeforeus.com\/the-sacrificing-of-excess-children-to-fulfill-adult-desires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">premature disposal of viable embryos<\/a>), embryo freezing (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hfea.gov.uk\/treatments\/fertility-preservation\/embryo-freezing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">which reduces the chance of an embryo surviving<\/a>), problematic procedures such as supplying egg and sperm (<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/05\/when-sperm-and-eggs-are-monetized-human-existence-becomes-transactional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">which preys on young adults strapped for cash<\/a>), and supplying embryos. <\/p>\n<p>It also includes <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/26\/big-fertility-harms-babies-and-women-so-why-are-we-celebrating-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gestational<\/a> surrogacy, which involves renting the wombs of women who form an undeniable physical bond with the baby they are carrying, only to sever that connection as soon as the child is born. Surrogates also take serious health risks in undergoing pregnancy for money rather than for the love of their child and the father of the child they are carrying, as expressed in a lifelong commitment to be the child\u2019s mother and secure the child his own father through marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The bill not only guarantees anyone seeking to create a child outside of natural, biological means can do so but also strictly prohibits the government from interfering in any part of the process \u2014 except, possibly, for paying all the bills.
