A threat of this magnitude is reckless, undermines our users\u2019 and customers\u2019 trust in our platform, and is a transparent act of worker intimidation,\u201d a draft of the letter read. \u201cTwitter has significant effects on societies and communities across the globe. Without our work, there is no Twitter,\u201d they wrote. \u201cWe, the workers at Twitter, will not be intimidated \u2026 We will not stop serving the public conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Calling on Musk to \u201ccease these negligent layoff threats,\u201d they followed those statements with a list of concrete demands.<\/p>\n<p>Under the heading \u201crespect,\u201d they said, \u201cWe demand leadership to respect the platform and the workers who maintain it by committing to preserving the current headcount.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under \u201csafety,\u201d they added, \u201cWe demand that leadership does not discriminate against workers on the basis of their race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. We also demand safety for workers on visas, who will be forced to leave the country they work in if they are laid off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under \u201cprotection,\u201d they demanded a commitment to preserve current benefits and allow for continued <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/musk-remote-work-is-no-longer-acceptable-at-tesla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remote work<\/a> \u2014 a topic Musk has already addressed at Tesla \u2014 as well as \u201cfair\u201d severance policies.<\/p>\n<p>Under the last heading, \u201cdignity,\u201d they concluded, \u201cWe demand transparent, prompt and thoughtful communication around our working conditions.
