Here\u2019s what to expect.<\/p>\n<p>The Candidates<\/p>\n<p>In one corner is Fetterman, the Democratic lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania and the former longtime mayor of Braddock, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inside-the-blighted-rust-belt-town-where-john-fetterman-was-mayor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">small steel town<\/a> east of Pittsburgh. In the other is Oz, a celebrity heart surgeon and former television host.<\/p>\n<p>Days before the primary election earlier this year, Fetterman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-top-democrat-in-u-s-senate-race-in-pennsylvania-hospitalized-after-suffering-stroke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suffered a stroke<\/a> that placed him in the hospital and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fetterman-versus-oz-pennsylvania-senate-nominees-finally-nail-down-time-and-place-for-debate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removed him<\/a> from the campaign trail for months. He has since stuttered, slurred, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/john-fetterman-gives-puzzling-response-when-answering-question-during-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost his train of thought<\/a> in multiple public appearances, leading to hesitance among many Pennsylvanians in recent weeks. Roughly 34% of voters are \u201cextremely or very worried\u201d that the nominee\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/surprising-group-of-voters-is-helping-dr-oz-narrow-the-gap-against-john-fetterman-in-pennsylvania-senate-contest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health<\/a> would render him unable to complete his duties in the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Both campaigns have agreed to let Fetterman use closed captioning as he continues to deal with auditory processing issues, although he reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ableist-toward-the-disability-community-john-fettermans-wife-tells-nbc-to-apologize-for-asking-about-his-stroke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">struggled<\/a> through an interview with NBC News during which he utilized the technology. Captioners on Tuesday night will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc27.com\/pennsylvania-senate-race\/pennsylvania-us-senate-debate-will-use-closed-captioning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">type<\/a> everything said by moderators and Oz to be displayed on screens.<\/p>\n<p>Oz hosted 13 seasons of his daytime syndicated talk show between 2009 and 2022 before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/dr-oz-show-canceled-1235061640\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nixing the program<\/a> at the beginning of this year so that he could run for office as a Republican. The campaign insisted on closed captioning technology because it\u2019s necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oz had pressed his rival after weeks of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fetterman-promises-he-will-debate-oz-but-does-not-specify-when-and-where\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">slow negotiations<\/a> on the time and place for the debate, which will occur after some Pennsylvanians have already cast their ballots in early voting.<\/p>\n<p>The Issues<\/p>\n<p>Beyond pressing Fetterman with respect to his uncertain health status, Oz will likely focus on the particularly leftist aspects of his opponent\u2019s platform.
