The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/crime\/police-and-law-enforcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Louis Police Department<\/a> also confirmed that its officers had responded to an &#8220;active shooting incident&#8221; and said a suspect was in custody.<\/p>\n<p>Police did not clarify the age of the third victim, a female, nor did they clarify her relationship to the school.<\/p>\n<p>St. Louice Police Chief Michael Slack said the doors to the school were locked, something that &#8220;bought time&#8221; for school security officers to react.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was an exchange of gunfire,&#8221; Slack said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/news-events\/florida-school-shooting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The shooting occurred<\/a> at the Central Visual and Performing Arts high school. The shooter was quickly stopped by police inside CVPA.
