After discussing the situation with Burton, Saban felt it wasn\u2019t necessary to suspend him from his program.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u2019t know how many of you have been in a situation like that. I talked to him. He was scared, I was scared, some of our other players were scared,&#8221; Saban said. &#8220;I think you learn to respect other people because we have a responsibility to do that, regardless of the circumstance we\u2019re in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;I talked to the guy, we have him in a counseling program, it\u2019s not an anger management program, as some people announced today. I didn\u2019t think it was necessary to suspend\u00a0the guy, so if you knew the whole story, maybe you wouldn\u2019t either. But I am not gonna divulge that,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/sports\/ncaa\/tennessee-volunteers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Tennessee Vols<\/a> upset the Crimson Tide last Saturday with a game-winning field goal, the entire stadium flooded the field. A video of the incident allegedly shows Burton walking when a female fan gets in his way. As she tries to avoid him, he appears to strike her before walking away.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/alabama-fan-fired-tweeting-glad-receiver-struck-female-tennessee-fan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ALABAMA FAN FIRED AFTER TWEETING HE WAS \u2018GLAD\u2019 RECEIVER STRUCK FEMAIL TENNESSEE FAN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We certainly don\u2019t condone any mistreatment of anybody, whether they should or shouldn\u2019t be there.
