We are committed to putting an end to this clear pattern of bias,\u201d McDaniel added.<\/p>\n<p>Google did not immediately respond to a request from The Epoch Times for comment but a Google spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/10\/22\/rnc-lawsuit-google-spam-filter-blocks-email\">told Axios<\/a> that \u201cwe simply don\u2019t filter emails based on political affiliation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have long accused tech giants of bias against conservative viewpoints and of suppressing free speech.<\/p>\n<p>The tech companies have repeatedly denied such allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans introduced a bill earlier this year that would require tech platforms to share how their filtering techniques work and make it illegal to put campaign emails into spam unless requested by users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew evidence suggests Big Tech companies are purposely filtering out Republican campaign materials, putting free speech\u2014a foundational tenet of our democracy\u2014at risk once again,\u201d Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), co-sponsor of the bill (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scott.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/LYN22420.pdf\">pdf<\/a>), said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scott.senate.gov\/media-center\/press-releases\/scott-thune-senate-republicans-introduce-political-bias-emails-act\">statement in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement announcing the introduction of the\u00a0Political Bias in Algorithm Sorting (BIAS) Emails Act, Republicans cited a study (<a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/pdf\/2203.16743.pdf\">pdf<\/a>) that found Google\u2019s algorithm filtered nearly 70 percent of emails from GOP campaigns to spam compared to just 8 percent of emails from Democrat campaigns.<\/p>\n<div class=\"author_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_author_block round\">\n<div class=\"top_row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/author-tom-ozimek\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WEB_TomOzimek-_1.jpg\" alt=\"Tom Ozimek\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Follow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Tom Ozimek has a broad background in journalism, deposit insurance, marketing and communications, and adult education.
