For some of us, closer to home than we\u2019d like.<\/p>\n<p>As I <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2022\/10\/13\/ted-cruz-nails-it-nixon-tried-and-failed-to-corrupt-the-doj-and-fbi-obama-and-biden-succeeded-n642772\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> in mid-October, Joe Biden and Barack Obama accomplished what even Richard Nixon couldn\u2019t do, despite his desperate efforts during the Watergate scandal. As Texas Senator Ted Cruz articulated, \u201cObama pushed hard partisans into career positions at DOJ, the FBI, the intelligence agencies, and the IRS, and targeted his political enemies. It has now metastasized under Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And as I <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2022\/04\/21\/former-intel-officials-use-russia-as-excuse-to-declare-big-tech-censorship-vital-to-national-security-n553658\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> in April, a group of former intelligence and national security officials issued a jointly signed letter warning that pending legislative attempts to restrict or break up the power of Big Tech monopolies \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/brandon_morse\/2022\/08\/30\/republicans-want-communications-between-facebook-and-fbi-turned-over-after-hunter-laptop-story-n620082\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2022\/07\/22\/republican-attorneys-general-warn-google-stop-censoring-pro-life-group-misinformation-or-else-n599941\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/bobhoge\/2022\/06\/27\/hundreds-of-employees-petition-amazon-to-take-a-decisive-stand-against-scotus-abortion-decision-n585361\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amazon<\/a> \u2014 would jeopardize national security.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s break this down, so far: Former intelligence and national security officials argue that centralized censorship is not only crucial to protecting national security but also in advancing U.S. foreign policy, on one hand, and the Obama-weaponized DOJ, FBI, and IRS targeting political enemies metastasizing under the presidency of Joe Biden, on the other hand.<\/p>\n<p>What could possibly go wrong? We\u2019re about to find out.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Post on Sunday <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/23\/lawsuit-reveals-vast-censorship-scheme-by-big-tech-and-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> a piece by investigative journalist Miranda Devine about a little-noticed\u00a0federal lawsuit,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ago.mo.gov\/docs\/default-source\/press-releases\/mo-la-v-biden-filed-petition.pdf?sfvrsn=3d20bca5_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri v. Biden<\/a>, that \u201cis uncovering astonishing evidence of an entrenched censorship scheme cooked up between the federal government and Big Tech that would make Communist China proud.\u201d (Note: While the lawsuit hasn\u2019t been extensively covered by the legacy media, RedState has <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/smoosieq\/2022\/05\/05\/mo-and-la-file-suit-against-biden-administration-over-collusion-with-tech-giants-to-suppress-free-speech-n560495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on it, including <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/nick-arama\/2022\/09\/01\/smoking-gun-emails-show-deep-coordination-between-social-media-and-biden-admin-in-vast-censorship-enterprise-n621211\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">smoking gun emails<\/a> obtained via the discovery process which demonstrate the coordination.)<\/p>\n<p>According to Devine, 67 government officials or agencies \u2014 including the FBI \u2014 are accused in the lawsuit of violating the First Amendment by pressuring Facebook, Twitter, and Google to censor users for alleged misinformation or disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>Victims of the Biden-Big Tech\u2019s \u201ccensorship enterprise,\u201d Devine said, include The Post, whose Hunter Biden laptop expos\u00e9 was suppressed by Facebook, and then Twitter in October 2020 after \u201cthe FBI went to Facebook warning them with great specificity to watch out for a \u2018dump\u2019 of Russian disinformation, pertaining to Joe Biden, with an uncanny resemblance to our stories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, who\u2019s leading the action, summarized the lawsuit:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We allege that top-ranking Biden administration officials colluded with those social media companies to suppress speech about the Hunter Biden laptop story, the origins of COVID-19, the efficacy of masks, and election integrity.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Devine further said Big Tech censorship is related to alleged \u201cmisinformation\u201d about COVID pandemic lockdowns and vaccines, as well as material from esteemed infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists that proved over time to be correct \u2014 and eventually, much of which was adopted as official policy by the CDC.<\/p>\n<p>The list of defendants includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FBI special agents Elvis Chan and Laura Dehmlow, who gave Facebook that detailed \u201cdisinformation\u201d briefing right before The Post was censored<\/li>\n<li>White House press secretaries, current and former, Karine Jean-Pierre and Jen Psaki<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president\u2019s chief medical adviser<\/li>\n<li>Former White House senior COVID-19 adviser Andrew Slavitt<\/li>\n<li>Counsel to President Biden Dana Remus<\/li>\n<li>The DHS over the disbanded Disinformation Governance Board<\/li>\n<li>The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency<\/li>\n<li>The FDA<\/li>\n<li>The State Department<\/li>\n<li>The US Election Assistance Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The civil action was filed by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana, noted Devine, in partnership with \u201csuch red-pilled lawyers as Jenin Younes at the New Civil Liberties Alliance.\u201d (Biden\u2019s sleazy attorney general, <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2021\/10\/28\/there-he-goes-again-merrick-garlands-doj-blocks-republican-access-to-fbis-jan-6-documents-n465278\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Merrick Garland<\/a> was unavailable for comment.)<\/p>\n<p>The case overlaps a separate lawsuit by COVID-response critic and former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson, whose legal victories so far forced Twitter to <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/bobhoge\/2022\/07\/06\/winning-noted-covid-response-critic-alex-berenson-reinstated-by-twitter-following-lawsuit-n589889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reinstate his account<\/a> after he was banned over his COVID reporting. But as Devine noted, the \u201ccat and mouse game continues as Berenson is currently suspended again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bottom Line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Banning and censoring conservative opinion and factual information, under the false pretense of misinformation or disinformation, that contradict the lies and narratives of the Biden administration and upset the supreme potentates of Google, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, and other Big Tech companies, smacks of the heady days of the Soviet Union and today\u2019s Communist China.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2022\/09\/04\/thank-god-the-u-s-is-not-a-democracy-n622768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pathetically declared<\/a>: \u201cDonald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s time to drain the swamp \u2014 <em>for real,<\/em> this time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\nTrending on Redstate Video\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve seen the reports and the evidence.
