Maloney contended that Republicans are simply \u201clashing out\u201d in anger, using dark money, because they do not have plans to tackle issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpeaking of New York, as you mentioned, the Republicans have gone in big to try to defeat you,\u201d host Jonathan Karl said. \u201cThey think that your seat is winnable. We\u2019ve also seen recent polling that shows that Governor [Kathy] Hochul is facing a very tough challenge, much tougher than expected, from Lee Zeldin, the Republican. Could we really see Democrats in trouble in New York of all places?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fnmMv geuMB alqtB wqIGQ\">\u201cWhat I can tell you is that [Republicans are] acting like angry people and they\u2019re lashing out with what they\u2019ve got which, is big, dark MAGA millions,\u201d Maloney said. \u201cLike I said, they\u2019re lighting on fire $7 million trying to beat me and on the day after the election, they\u2019re going to lose this seat and wish they had that $7 million out in races they could win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"fnmMv geuMB alqtB wqIGQ\">\u201cThat tells me they\u2019re not good at their jobs and I don\u2019t want those people making decisions about my national security, or my economy or my reproductive freedom because they\u2019re angry people, using dark mega-millions to try to win power,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fnmMv geuMB alqtB wqIGQ\">\u201cNo, what you\u2019re seeing is a bunch of irrational angry decisions using money, not a plan to help our communities or move our country forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe other side is acting like angry people and they&#8217;re lashing out with what they&#8217;ve got which, is big, dark MAGA millions\u2026They&#8217;re lighting on fire $7 million trying to beat me,&#8221; Rep. There are no major public polls of Maloney\u2019s home district, New York\u2019s 17th, but <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/house\/2022\/new-york\/17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">internal polling<\/a> obtained by FiveThirtyEight shows that Republican Michael V. Lawler holds significant leads in the race by as much as 6 points.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the New York governor\u2019s race is listed as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/another-governors-race-in-a-deep-blue-state-moved-to-toss-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">toss-up<\/a> by RealClearPolitics. Recent polls have shown the contest is extremely close: A poll from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/poll-finds-republican-lee-zeldin-neck-and-neck-with-kathy-hochul-in-governors-race-in-deep-blue-new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trafalgar Group<\/a> released earlier this month found that Zeldin was within the margin of error against Hochul. Another poll from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/lee-zeldin-can-win-new-polling-shows-vital-gain-for-new-yorks-republican-gubernatorial-candidate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Quinnipiac<\/a> showed that Zeldin trailed by just 4 points. Most recently, a poll by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-poll-shows-zeldin-with-a-small-lead-over-kathy-hochul-in-deep-blue-new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Co\/efficient<\/a> showed that Zeldin leads Hochul.
