Halep is prohibited from playing in any WTA events and could face a lengthy suspension. <\/p>\n<p>Halep, now ranked No. 9 in the world, is the biggest name in the sport to face such consequences since Maria Sharapova was suspended two years in 2016 for a positive doping test. I have been notified that I have tested positive for a substance called Roxadustat in an extremely low quantity, which came as the biggest shock of my life,\u201d Halep wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout my whole career, the idea of cheating never even crossed my mind once, as it is totally against all the values I have been educated with.
