All of us are concerned about these rising costs, and all of us knew this would be the case when we put in place this recovery program,&#8221; Clyburn said on MSNBC after host Jos\u00e9 D\u00edaz-Balart asked about Americans&#8217; struggles with surging food and energy prices. &#8220;Any time you put more money into the economy, prices tend to rise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8WATCH: House Democrat Whip Jim Clyburn claims Democrats KNEW their wasteful spending would cause inflation \u2014 but they did it anyway. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ojiMf41MTj\">pic.twitter.com\/ojiMf41MTj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Senate Republican Communications Center (@SRCC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SRCC\/status\/1583107374801252353?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 20, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But Clyburn and the rest of Democratic leadership in Congress championed that recovery program and other legislation, insisting the bills would not damage the economy, even as experts say the bills contributed to the country&#8217;s record inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Clyburn voted in favor of Biden&#8217;s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and $738 billion Inflation Reduction Act.
