State law requires equal representation between the two parties, but during its August primary elections, Maricopa hired 857 Democrat poll workers and just 712 Republicans. (Some residents blame the county registrar, hardcore libertarian and Democrat Party-sycophant Stephen Richer, who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/20\/az-election-official-stephen-richer-ran-on-election-integrity-now-hes-accused-of-law-breaking-and-politicking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly broke the law<\/a> by using taxpayer resources to advocate against an election integrity ballot measure.)<\/p>\n<p>Following the RNC and RPAZ\u2019s lawsuit, Maricopa is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zFAVfYAu5sE&#038;t=1747s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">now making public<\/a> its poll watcher hiring data. So far, the county has filled 84 percent of its positions at vote centers. This includes 792 Democrats and 839 Republicans at polling centers county-wide, including 125 Democrats and 134 Republicans at Maricopa Tabulation and Election Center (where central counting takes place).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing a joint RNC and RPAZ lawsuit, Maricopa County has released its breakdown of hired poll workers in a massive victory for our Republican election integrity coalition,\u201d RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and RPAZ Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward\u00a0said in a joint statement. \u201cAfter the disparity that occurred during the primary, it\u2019s unfortunate that it took two Republican lawsuits to get this basic level of transparency and for the County to follow the law.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The RNC and RPAZ also filed a second <a href=\"https:\/\/prod-media-assets.protectthevote.com\/media\/document\/news\/AZ_2_rnqsedp8.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> against Maricopa County for burdensome regulations election officials imposed on poll watchers, making it more difficult to maintain equal representation of both parties. <\/p>\n<p>This victory by the RNC follows another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/politics-and-government\/clark-county\/county-wont-release-poll-worker-names-in-lawsuit-compromise-2652727\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">win<\/a> in Clark County, Nevada, where election officials agreed to share poll worker data after the RNC filed a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p> Victoria Marshall is a staff writer at The Federalist.
