But in this case, because we have three really qualified candidates, a lot of voters are trying to make their final decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stout noted that Drazan \u201cset the tone\u201d of the debate early on in the night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer response was that we need to show compassion and understand what they\u2019re going through,\u201d Stout said about Drazan\u2019s response to a question about homelessness, noting it was evident Drazan was courting independent voters. \u201cThis kind of hearkens back to an idea of a \u2018compassionate conservative\u2019 that we saw in the early 2000s with George W. Bush.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More information on this race can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/oregon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nevada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Democratic incumbent Governor Steve Sisolak is facing a strong challenge from GOP nominee Joe Lombardo.<\/p>\n<p>According to FiveThirtyEight\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/governor\/2022\/nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polling average<\/a>, Lombardo leads Sisolak by a margin of 45% to 44.8%.<\/p>\n<p>Crime <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/here-are-issues-nevada-voters-care-about-most\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is a top issue<\/a> in Nevada, and just this week Nevada\u2019s Police Union (NPU) announced a vote of \u201cno confidence\u201d in Sisolak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has become clear that our members believe public safety is not a priority of this governor and that is why they have overwhelmingly declared no confidence in Governor Sisolak to ever address these critical issues,\u201d NPU President Dan Gordon <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/nevada-police-union-declares-no-confidence-in-sisolak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement regarding Nevada\u2019s depleted police force.<\/p>\n<p>Lombardo, for his part, has earned endorsements from former President Donald J. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) is surging in his bid against incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul.<\/p>\n<p>Per FiveThirtyEight\u2019s polling average, Hochul is leading Zeldin 50.1% to 42.5%. So, this race may not be as close as Nevada or Oregon, but that doesn\u2019t mean that Republicans should throw in the towel.<\/p>\n<p>On October 18,\u00a0Quinnipiac University released a poll showing Hochul with a 50-46% lead over Zeldin. That\u2019s the closest QU\u2019s poll has been all cycle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gothamgazette.com\/state\/11630-what-polls-say-new-york-governor-race-zeldin-hochul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the Gotham Gazette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the blue state of New York, the race for governor is competitive,\u201d Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Mary Snow said in a statement. \u201cDemocrats have cruised to victory in gubernatorial races since 2006, but Governor Hochul\u2019s narrow edge puts Republican Lee Zeldin well within striking distance of her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Writing for Daily Wire+, columnist Dave Marcus outright predicted that Zeldin would win given the prominence of issues such as crime and inflation in the race.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus concluded:<\/p>\n<p><em>In politics as in life, many things seem absolutely certain right up until they don\u2019t. That\u2019s where the governor\u2019s race has arrived in New York. A once unthinkable Zeldin win isn\u2019t just being thought of now, it\u2019s become more likely than not to occur. For a city and state crippled by crime, which went through some of the harshest Covid lockdowns, thanks in part to Hochul, and has bled citizens to Florida like they are following Moses, a new dawn seems to be cracking the horizon.
