A new poll shows the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/gallup-new-low-in-media-trust\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> fallout from that shift.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gallup revealed Tuesday that the percentage of people who have \u201cno trust\u201d in journalism outpaces a \u201cgreat deal\/fair amount\u201d for the first time ever.<\/p>\n<p>Yet both institutions have little to say on the subject, typified by the press\u2019 treatment of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.<\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s up to podcasters like Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew Pinsky to do the work those groups won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/adam-carolla-mainstream-media-big-tech-rigged-election-for-biden\/\"><strong>RELATED: CAROLLA SAYS BIG TECH THREW ELECTION TO BIDEN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Adam and Dr. Drew Show\u201d dropped a smart bomb on journalism, again, this week. The show features advice on love, addiction and more, but in recent months the focus shifted to false pandemic narratives and journalism\u2019s rot.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point? The duo played a 1987 news clip in which then-Sen. Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2019\/05\/that-time-joe-biden-lied-about-his-academic-credentials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made up gargantuan lies<\/a> about his academic record.<\/p>\n<p>And the media called him out on it, no questions asked. Biden quickly backpedaled.<\/p>\n<p>That was then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never see that anymore,\u201d Carolla said of that brisk journalistic takedown. \u201cIn 1987 mainstream news was like, \u2018[Biden] lies about this, his lying about that\u2026&#8217;\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Today, President Joe Biden\u2019s whoppers require an entire team of fact checkers. Put on another pot of coffee, team. Biden\u2019s got a speech at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>His comments aren\u2019t always lucid, of course, like when he claimed his late son Beau Biden died in Iraq, not from brain cancer. Or how he called for a politician to speak up from the crowd when that same pol died weeks earlier.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Joe Biden said today that his son who died of brain cancer \u201clost his life in Iraq.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Totally normal. Where are Teams Poynter and CJR?\u00a0Still, Biden\u2019s on-the-record comments are replete with wholesale lies, and the fact-checkers look the other way.<\/p>\n<p>Not Carolla and Pinsky.<\/p>\n<p>They replayed Biden\u2019s 1987 comments as well as a news report skewering his lies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s who he is,\u201d Carolla said of Biden, noting the disparate treatment afforded his predecessor. \u201cBut you gotta watch out for Trump. That guy\u2019s a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They followed up the news flashback with far-Left anchor Jake Tapper lobbing softballs at President Biden during a recent interview.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The subject?<\/p>\n<p>First son Hunter Biden, the target of an FBI probe. The feds have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/hunter-biden-criminal-fbi-investigation-whistleblower-ukraine-china\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cvoluminous evidence\u201d<\/a> of criminal activities, according to press reports.<\/p>\n<p>He notes how Tapper must ask Biden about his troubled son. Otherwise, the anchor\u2019s bias would be so obvious Sen. Bernie Sanders would cry foul.\u00a0What he does, though, is throw a generic question at the president sans follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s precisely what Tapper did.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe must check the box, otherwise people will say, \u2018you\u2019re not a reporter, you\u2019re in the bag for Democrats,&#8217;\u201d he said. \u201cHe must ask it, and he will, but who cares?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s like a cop charged with investigating a suspicious man\u2019s trunk, the comic podcaster said. The officer could pop the trunk and peer inside, or he could ask the driver about the trunk\u2019s contents and take his word for it.<\/p>\n<p>The latter is Jake Tapper\u2019s approach.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/how-liberal-media-bias-extends-to-arts-coverage\/\"><strong>RELATED: LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS INFECTS HOLLYWOOD COVERAGE, TOO<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To be fair, the CNN anchor did ask a follow-up question, one that would make Woodward and Bernstein grind their teeth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re about to turn 80 next month, Happy Birthday, ahead of time,\u201d Tapper said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you wanna know what I\u2019ve been talking about, look no further than that,\u201d Carolla said. Later, Carolla added a scenario that highlights media mistrust even further.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not the politician. It\u2019s the news anchor, the reporters, they\u2019re not doing their job,\u201d Carolla said.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is so ingrained in journalism today that we expect Tapper to fall down on the job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Jake Tapper followed up with the Hunter Biden thing and really squeezed him, we\u2019d all be like, \u2018oh my God, why did he do that?
