Scott said that the energy is on the side of the GOP because Americans are weary of the Biden administration after two years. He also cited a number of polls showing that Republican candidates are within striking distance in many key states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt starts right here, we\u2019re going to get 52 Republican senators, we have to win here,\u201d Scott said about Budd\u2019s race, via <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/3697862-rick-scott-senate-republicans-have-path-to-55-seat-majority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>. \u201cI think we can get 53, 54, 55.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe energy is on our side,\u201d he added. \u201cPeople are fed up with the Biden agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with The Hill shortly after the event, Scott pointed to several races where Republicans are either leading or closely behind their Democratic rivals. \u201cIf you look at the weekly polls and do we lot of polls, every week is getting better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>First, Scott pointed to the races in Wisconsin and Nevada, where the GOP is up consistently. In Wisconsin, incumbent Senator Ron Johnson is leading in the race against Democratic lieutenant governor Mandela Barnes. A poll from <a href=\"https:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/poll\/2022\/10\/12\/new-marquette-law-school-poll-survey-of-wisconsin-voters-finds-johnson-leading-barnes-in-senate-race-evers-and-michels-in-a-gubernatorial-toss-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marquette University<\/a> shows Johnson with a six-point lead over Barnes. In Nevada, former attorney general Adam Laxalt has held a consistent lead since early September against incumbent Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/nevada-senate-poll-cortez-masto-laxalt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News\/YouGov<\/a> poll from this week showed Laxalt ahead by 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7ArBOzBgA0k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO WATCH ELECTION WIRE FOR ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND POLLING ON THE UPCOMING MIDTERMS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen you look at here, Ted\u2019s been consistently up,\u201d Scott said of Budd, who has also led against former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley since the race began, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2022\/senate\/nc\/north_carolina_senate_budd_vs_beasley-7588.html#polls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClearPolitics<\/a>. \u201cThat keeps us at 50-50.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen you look at Herschel Walker, you look at all the polls, Herschel\u2019s up three,\u201d he said, though he did not specify which poll showed that result. \u201cGeorgia, we\u2019ll pick that one up.\u201d Walker led incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock in several polls in early September, but has since dipped in the polls after the left-wing Daily Beast published an article claiming that Walker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/herschel-walker-responds-to-report-he-paid-for-womans-abortion-flat-out-lie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paid for a woman to have an abortion<\/a>. But the latest poll, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlantanewsfirst.com\/2022\/10\/18\/brian-kemp-continues-leading-stacey-abrams-us-senate-race-tied-new-landmark-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Landmark Communications<\/a>, shows Walker and Warnock tied.<\/p>\n<p>In Arizona, Scott said the GOP has \u201cdefined\u201d incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly, and Republican \u201cBlake [Masters] is barely behind.\u201d An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hold-exclusive-poll-kari-lake-in-lead-for-arizona-gov-masters-trails-kelly-by-one-point-for-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exclusive poll<\/a> conducted by The Daily Wire and The Trafalgar Group showed Masters trailing Kelly by just one point.<\/p>\n<p>In New Hampshire, Scott said \u201cthere\u2019s a poll out showing [GOP challenger Don] Bolduc down two,\u201d though once again, he did not name a specific poll. A poll from the end of September, conducted by Trafalgar, showed Bolduc trailing incumbent Democrat Maggie Hassan by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/TRF-NH-General-1004-Poll-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just three points<\/a>. \u201cHassan\u2019s numbers have been horrible as far as her approval,\u201d Scott said, indicating that Bolduc may be able to pull off an upset.<\/p>\n<p>Scott also pointed to Colorado and Washington as states where Republicans could pull off a surprising upset. \u201cJoe O\u2019Dea\u2019s barely behind, Tiffany Smiley is down two,\u201d he said. Colorado GOP candidate Joe O\u2019Dea is struggling against incumbent Michael Bennet; the closest poll shows Bennet with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/TRF-CO-General-0823-Poll-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">five-point lead<\/a>. Washington Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley, however, is in much better shape \u2014 a Trafalgar poll from September showed incumbent Patty Murray leading Smiley by just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/WA-General-Poll-Report-0926.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two points<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m optimistic it\u2019s going to be a good night and we have good candidates, they\u2019re running good races.
