Jim Jordan (OH) and Mike Johnson (LA) wrote.<\/p>\n<p>While Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has said domestic violent extremism is the \u201cgreatest threat\u201d to the United States, whistleblowers have sounded the alarm about the corruption and weaponization of the alphabet agency since the Biden administration took office in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>One example the lawmakers shared explained that FBI officials allegedly \u201cencouraged and incentivized\u201d agents to reclassify such cases because the bureau was not finding enough, \u201ceven though there is minimal, circumstantial evidence to support the reclassification.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother whistleblower stated that a field office Counterterrorism Assistant Special Agent in Charge and the FBI\u2019s then Assistant Director of the Counterterrorism Division pressured agents to move cases into the DVE category to hit self-created performance metrics,\u201d GOP officials said to Sanborn. \u201cThis whistleblower identified you as one official who exerted pressure on agents to reclassify cases as DVE matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the GOP House members, Sandborn served in the agency from January 2020 to April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2022\/oct\/20\/ex-fbi-official-testify-about-claims-wh-pressured-\/\">reported<\/a> that former and current top FBI leaders \u201chave already determined that White supremacy is a problem,\u201d adding they have already begun reclassifying cases to fit that narrative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities,\u201d one whistleblower told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2022\/oct\/20\/ex-fbi-official-testify-about-claims-wh-pressured-\/\">The Washington Times<\/a>. \u201cIf they have a Gadsden flag, and they own guns, and they are mean at school board meetings, that\u2019s probably a domestic terrorist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An FBI spokesperson declined to comment on if Ms. Sanborn agreed to testify, per The Washington Times.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes off the heels of several ongoing accusations that the Biden administration weaponized the agency against the American people.<\/p>\n<p>From storming former President Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago home, targeting pro-life activists for standing up for unborn children, and allegedly contacting Facebook-creator Mark Zuckerberg to suppress Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop ahead of the 2020 Presidential Election \u2014 the latest revelations alleged by whistleblowers have only fanned the flames for public and private citizens calling to dismantle the bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, FBI officials <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/press-release\/fbi-labeled-veteran-led-disaster-organization-a-terror-group-over-government-criticism-whistleblower-says\/\">told<\/a> GOP House members that the bureau focuses only on those \u201cwho commit or intend to commit violence and criminal activity that constitutes a federal crime or poses a threat to national security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot and do not investigate ideology,\u201d the bureau <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/press-release\/fbi-labeled-veteran-led-disaster-organization-a-terror-group-over-government-criticism-whistleblower-says\/\">said<\/a>. \u201cThe FBI\u2019s mission is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution.
