We need to find non-Russian hydrocarbon sources to substitute for those,\u201d Gates explained. \u201cKeeping those economies in decent shape is a priority. Now on the other hand, it\u2019s good for the long run, because people won\u2019t want to be dependent on Russian natural gas, so they\u2019ll move to these new approaches more rapidly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Natural gas shipments from Russia, which had already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/let-the-wolfs-tail-freeze-putin-doubles-down-on-halting-natural-gas-flow-to-western-europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paused exports<\/a> to Germany through Nord Stream 1 before the pipeline system <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/danish-police-reveal-cause-of-nord-stream-pipeline-damage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">witnessed<\/a> massive damage, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/european-union-social-market-economy-might-redistribute-fossil-fuel-profits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provided<\/a> 40% of the continent\u2019s natural gas supply last year. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen acknowledged that low hydropower generation, which emerged from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/european-union-intends-to-flatten-the-curve-for-electricity-use\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low river capacity<\/a>, is partially responsible for soaring energy prices, although she said the \u201ceffects of climate change\u201d were responsible for the low water levels.<\/p>\n<p>Gates is the founder of Breakthrough Energy, which aims to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bill-gates-raises-1-billion-from-corporate-america-to-fight-climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">catalyze<\/a> technological development to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.
