That\u2019s the highest number ever recorded by the organization.<\/p>\n<p>In the same period, Planned Parenthood provided fewer than 2,000 adoption referrals. That\u2019s nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/here-for-a-reason-planned-parenthood-performs-almost-200-abortions-for-every-one-adoption-referral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">200 abortions for every one adoption referral<\/a>. Over the past decade, they have averaged 126 abortions for every one adoption referral.<\/p>\n<p>For a taxpayer-funded organization that claims to be pro-choice and provide myriad women\u2019s health services, does that seem balanced to you?<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, Planned Parenthood\u2019s new annual report is titled \u201cHere for a Reason.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their own data clearly shows that reason:\u00a0Abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Their numbers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1995\/07\/22\/us\/planned-parenthood-president-resigns.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">history<\/a> clearly reveal Planned Parenthood\u2019s leaders have one aim \u2014 to capture as large a slice of the U.S. abortion market as they can.<\/p>\n<p>Consider these statistics we <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-planned-parenthoods-2020-2021-annual-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calculated<\/a> based on Planned Parenthood\u2019s annual report:<\/p>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Prenatal care made up just 2% of its pregnancy resolution activities\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Miscarriage care, less than one percent (0.7%)\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Adoption referrals, just one-half of one percent (0.5%)\n<p>Abortion, in comparison, makes up a staggering 96.6% of Planned Parenthood\u2019s pregnancy resolution activities \u2014 prenatal care, miscarriage care, adoption, or abortion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Only One Choice: Abortion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although Planned Parenthood often downplays its abortion business as just a small portion of its overall services, their own data indicates that Planned Parenthood only cares about one \u201cchoice\u201d \u2014 abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Our ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-planned-parenthoods-2020-2021-annual-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> of every Planned Parenthood annual report over the past decade shows a significant and long-term decline in non-abortion services. Planned Parenthood prenatal and contraceptive services have dropped by 72% and 41%, respectively, over the past decade. Cancer screenings, breast exams and pap tests, which have been subject to guideline reforms, have decreased by well over 70%.<\/p>\n<p>Amid falling customer numbers \u2014 240,000 fewer customers were seen in 2019-2020 than the year before \u2014 Planned Parenthood has increased its lucrative abortion business. During that same period when customer traffic dropped significantly, it performed nearly 30,000 more abortions.<\/p>\n<p>If Planned Parenthood is really focused on women\u2019s holistic health, as it claims, shouldn\u2019t it be providing more services that support women\u2019s health?<\/p>\n<p>Wouldn\u2019t the nearly $2 million of taxpayer funding being poured into Planned Parenthood every single day be better spent on efforts that actually support women and families?<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, community-based pro-life pregnancy centers offer women something that Planned Parenthood doesn\u2019t: real options and real support, almost always at no cost to their clients. This amounted to <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/pro-life-pregnancy-centers-served-2-million-people-with-essential-medical-education-and-support-services-in-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hundreds of millions of dollars<\/a> in medical care, materials, and education provided in 2019. Together, these pregnancy centers have saved more than 800,000 lives since 2016, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/lives-saved-impact-at-us-pregnancy-help-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent research<\/a> by our colleagues at the Charlotte Lozier Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion advocates and their allies in the media and in Washington, D.C., choose to ignore these numbers because they don\u2019t fit their narrative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Killing The Adoption Dream\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, an estimated 2 million families in the U.S. are waiting to adopt a child.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s more than enough families to provide a loving home to each and every of the 383,460 unborn babies lost to Planned Parenthood abortion centers last year.\u00a0 You would think Planned Parenthood might try to keep such shocking statistics quiet, but according to their annual report, they are \u201cproud to provide abortion.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s women deserve better. They deserve a real choice and the assurance they will be fully supported, whether they decide to parent or choose to make an adoption plan.
