Ron DeSantis is leading Democrat challenger Charlie Crist by ten percentage points, a recent Sachs Media Group survey found.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The survey, <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/564648-last-call-for-10-17-22-a-prime-time-read-of-whats-going-down-in-florida-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken<\/a> mere weeks ahead of the 2022 midterm election, found the Republican governor leading the Democrat by ten percentage points \u2014 52 percent to 42 percent. In addition to that, for the first time ever, Republicans will have over 300,000 more registered voters at the time of the midterm election than Democrats in the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd even though we\u2019ve never had an election in Florida history [where] we\u2019ve had more Republicans than Democrats, this November, we will now have over 300,000 more Republicans than Democrats,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/17\/ron-desantis-florida-300000-registered-republicans-democrats-come-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>, prompting cheers and applause adding that the GOP has seen \u201cmassive gains in Miami-Dade\u201d and \u201cmajor gains in Palm Beach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">During that same speech, DeSantis reminded Floridians how close the state came to having a very different future, as the governor defeated Democrat Andrew Gillum by less than half of a percentage point in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat could have gone the other way\u201d resulting in a \u201ca much different future,\u201d he said, warning Floridians against taking Florida freedom for granted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFreedom is very fragile. As we\u2019ve seen, we just lived through an era where there were states in this country forcibly shuttering churches while they allowed liquor stores in strip clubs to operate,\u201d he said, asking for support in the upcoming election.<\/p>\n<p>The first and only debate between DeSantis and Crist will occur October 24 at 7 p.m. Eastern.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Gov.
