Mike Johnson (@RepMikeJohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMikeJohnson\/status\/1582393774415613952?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 18, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Democrat Party and their cultural allies are on a misguided crusade to immerse young children in sexual imagery and radical gender ideology,\u201d\u00a0Representative Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/cc.org\/house-republicans-introduce-legislation-to-ensure-taxpayer-dollars-cannot-fund-sexually-explicit-material-for-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cThis commonsense bill is straightforward. No federal tax dollars should go to any federal, state, or local government agencies, or private organizations that intentionally expose children under 10 years of age to sexually explicit material.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Federal funds would not be able to go toward events that involve \u201csexually-oriented material,\u201d as well as \u201cany program, event, or literature that exposes children under the age of 10 to nude adults, individuals who are stripping, or lewd or lascivious dancing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The bill points to the fact that private and government groups have used federal grant money \u201cto host and promote sexually-oriented events like drag queen story hours and burlesque shows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The bill allows parents or guardians to \u201cbring a civil action for injunctive relief \u2026 against a government official, government agency, or private entity\u201d if his or her child was under the age of ten and \u201cexposed to sexually-oriented material funded in part or in whole by Federal funds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It also prevents federal funds from being given to any group for three years if the group has two or more penalties for violating the bill in a time span of five years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The measure defines \u201csexually-oriented material\u201d as \u201cany depiction, description, or simulation of sexual activity, any lewd or lascivious depiction or description of human genitals, or any topic involving gender identity, gender dysphoria, transgenderism, sexual orientation, or related subjects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It also provides a definition for \u201cstripping,\u201d stating that it would apply to \u201cany act which involves the removal or simulated removal of clothing in a sexual manner for the entertainment of one or more individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The measure points out that specific school districts that get federal grant money have put in place sexual education for kids under 10 years old, and a lot of recently issued sexual education courses \u201cencourage discussions of sexuality, sexual orientation, transgenderism, and gender ideology as early as kindergarten.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Republicans have introduced a bill that would ensure taxpayer money doesn\u2019t go towards sexually-oriented projects directed at young kids.
