The poll sampled\u00a0792 registered voters from October 9-12 with a 4 point margin of error.<\/p>\n<p>In just 30 days, independents have moved nine points in favor of Republicans, along with women (13 points) and independent women (32 points).<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Republicans lead Democrats among independents by ten points and among independent women by 18 points.<\/p>\n<p>The polling suggests independents and female voters have shifted their support behind Republicans in large part due to the Democrats\u2019 record-high inflation and specifically soaring costs at the grocery store.\u00a0According to Pew Research Center analysis, 80 percent of mothers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2019\/09\/24\/among-u-s-couples-women-do-more-cooking-and-grocery-shopping-than-men\/\">say<\/a>\u00a0they are the primary grocery shopper for the household.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/06\/Mother-and-children-bringing-groceries-home.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mother and children bringing groceries home (Louise Beaumont\/Getty)<\/p>\n<p>Soaring costs at the grocery store are\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/10\/13\/grocery-store-inflation-spikes-sugar-cakes-cheese-and-joe-bidens-ice-cream-all-soar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">where<\/a>\u00a0inflation is most visible. From August to September, the price of food at home jumped 0.6 percent. Over the past 12 months, grocery prices have gone up 13 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics found last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cCore CPI, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose 6.6 percent compared with a year ago,\u201d Breitbart News\u2019s John Carney\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/10\/13\/consumer-prices-surge-higher-than-expected\/\">reported<\/a> on October 13. \u201cThat is the highest rate of core inflation since 1982, surpassing the recent 6.4 percent highs hit in February and March. For the month, core prices were up 0.6 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The soaring costs mean that after adjusting for inflation, wages are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/10\/17\/study-americans-families-6k-poorer-thanks-joe-bidens-inflation-up-4-2k\/\">down<\/a> $6,000, a Heritage Foundation study revealed. That\u2019s an increase from an earlier estimate that put the decline in real wages at $4,200.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are just absolutely being crushed,\u201d Heritage fellow E.J. Antoni\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/average-american-family-lost-6000-annual-wages-biden-inflation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">told<\/a>\u00a0Fox Business. \u201cIt\u2019s not the price of caviar and yachts that are driving these numbers. It\u2019s necessities, it\u2019s staples. It\u2019s things like eggs, milk, flour, soup. These are things that are up 20 or 30 percent year-over-year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Americans blame President Joe Biden and the Democrats for inflation.\u00a0A recent poll found 66 percent of independents\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000183-cacd-dcd6-af9f-fadf7c130000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">believe<\/a>\u00a0Biden has \u201csomewhat\u201d or \u201cstrongly\u201d mismanaged the economy.
