The defense will be that they had an affair, that they had consensual sex,&#8221; he continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Siebel Newsom&#8217;s lawyer said on Tuesday, &#8220;She intends to testify at his trial in order to seek some measure of justice for survivors, and as part of her life\u2019s work to improve the lives of women&#8230; Please respect her choice to not discuss this matter outside of the courtroom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/10\/harvey-weinstein-jennifer-siebel-newsom-rape-trial-testimony-obama-1235147490\/\">Deadline <\/a>writes that the &#8220;ailing 70-year-old former mogul is simultaneously preparing to launch his appeal in New York after Janet DiFiore, chief judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, earlier this summer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/08\/harvey-weinstein-granted-appeal-new-york-could-get-bail-if-retrial-occurs-1235099879\/\">granted Weinstein the right<\/a>\u00a0to appeal the ruling. Oral arguments on whether Weinstein received a fair trial two years ago will begin in early 2023.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/harvey-weinstein-found-guilty-of-sexual-assault-and-third-degree-rape\">Weinstein <\/a>has already been found guilty of two counts of sexual assault.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<section data-toaster-wrap=\"\" tabindex=\"0\"> \u00a0  Siebel Newsom is one of the five women who have accused Weinstein of having raped them.
