Yes, really.<\/p>\n<p>The insane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/fact-check-nuclear-war-climate-change-global-warming-1750274\">article<\/a>, headlined \u201cFact Check: Would Nuclear War &#8216;Solve&#8217; Climate Change,\u201d said that while it was \u201cfalse\u201d to say that a nuclear war would \u201csolve\u201d the climate crisis, \u201cit is true that even a small nuclear war could have a global cooling effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fact-check continued: \u201cThere is ample evidence to suggest that a nuclear war would have a temporary global cooling effect (at least on land), but this is not the same as solving either global warming or the climate crisis more widely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is like trying to seriously fact-check whether Thanos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mUT3LrYGiAs\">erasing<\/a> half the universe\u2019s population would actually heal it or whether the Death Star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7g77WN6obk4\">nuking<\/a> Alderaan would reduce intergalactic congestion. Neither of those fact-checks need to be done. The <em>Newsweek <\/em>one also didn\u2019t need to be done.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p><em>Newsweek <\/em>admitted a nuclear winter \u201cwould be a climate crisis in and of itself, causing global food shortages and potentially billions of deaths.\u201d No kidding, Sherlock!<\/p>\n<p>Liberal outlet HuffPost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/nuclear-war-global-warming_n_828496\">tried<\/a> propagating this same nonsense 11 years ago in a story headlined: \u201cCould A Small Nuclear War Reverse Global Warming?\u201d The first two sentences of HuffPost\u2019s piece read like satire from <em>The Onion<\/em>: \u201cNuclear war is a bad thing. Right?\u201d It continued: \u201cThe cons seem to outweigh the pros in the event of global cooling caused by even a small nuclear war.\u201d Sure, nuclear war is catastrophic, but at least there\u2019s some perks, per HuffPost\u2019s and <em>Newsweek<\/em>\u2019s logic. Did <em>Newsweek <\/em>really think it was really a good idea to rehash this same nuttiness?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, when looked at in the wider context of climate change, <strong>a nuclear war would actually make things much worse by causing a whole new climate crisis<\/strong>,\u201d <em>Newsweek <\/em>stated.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for that information \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/Captain_Obvious#:~:text=Noun,quotations%20%E2%96%BC\">Captain Obvious<\/a>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Conservatives are under attack.<\/em><\/strong> <em>Contact <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/contact\"><em>Newsweek<\/em><\/a><em> and demand it stop pushing climate propaganda.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Newsweek wasted column space treating a claim that nuclear war could \u201csolve\u201d climate change as serious enough to warrant a fact-check, and ended up legitimizing the idea to an extent.
