(AP Photo\/Susan Walsh)<\/p>\n<p> Inflation Financial Hardship &#8211; Fox News Poll (Fox News Poll)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/oregon-gop-gubernatorial-candidate-pro-life-office-attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>OREGON GOP GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE RIPS DEMOCRATS&#8217; SILENCE ON PRO-LIFE OFFICE ATTACK: \u2018PAR FOR THE COURSE\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre went on to cite his signing of the Inflation Reduction Act and blame Republicans for a lack of further action.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Republicans are actually going to make things worse,&#8221; Jean-Pierre continued. &#8220;Democrats want to do the opposite and make things a little bit easier.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Doocy then pressed her: &#8220;But, who exactly thinks the president is doing a good job on inflation?&#8221; he asked, citing a poll that found Americans are the least confident on Biden&#8217;s ability to tackle the issue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We understand that there are challenges \u2026 That is why we are taking action to lower costs,&#8221; Jean-Pierre responded. &#8220;Republicans in Congress refuse to be partners with us on this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Inflation rose 8.2% in September compared to last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/economy\/april-2022-consumer-price-index-inflation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">showing virtually no change<\/a> since inflation first hit a 40-year high of 8.3% in April.<\/p>\n<p>The economy and inflation remain the top priorities for voters heading into the midterm elections, and polls show Americans are leaning toward Republicans to handle the issue.<\/p>\n<p> People shop in a supermarket as rising inflation affects consumer prices in Los Angeles, California, U.S. (REUTERS\/Lucy Nicholson) (REUTERS\/Lucy Nicholson)<\/p>\n<p>A Monday poll from The New York Times found that roughly 26% of voters said the economy is their most important issue, followed by inflation and cost of living at 18%. Abortion came in third, but at just 5%.
