{"id":1697562,"date":"2022-10-17T06:30:12","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/?p=1697562"},"modified":"2022-10-17T06:35:16","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:35:16","slug":"bidens-ukraine-strategy-could-start-a-nuclear-war-with-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-ukraine-strategy-could-start-a-nuclear-war-with-russia\/","title":{"rendered":"Biden&#8217;s Ukraine Strategy Could Start a Nuclear War with Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"><div class=\"mashsb-box\"><div class=\"mashsb-count mash-medium\" style=\"&quot;\"><div class=\"counts mashsbcount\">20<\/div><span class=\"mashsb-sharetext\">SHARES<\/span><\/div><div class=\"mashsb-buttons\"><a class=\"mashicon-facebook mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conservativenewsdaily.net%2Fbreaking-news%2Fbidens-ukraine-strategy-could-start-a-nuclear-war-with-russia%2F\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Facebook<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-twitter mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?text=&amp;url=https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/?p=1697562&amp;via=ConservNewsDly\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Twitter<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-subscribe mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"#\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Subscribe<\/span><\/a><div class=\"onoffswitch2 mash-medium mashsb-noshadow\" style=\"display:none\"><\/div><\/div>\n            <\/div>\n                <div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div><\/aside>\n            <!-- Share buttons by mashshare.net - Version: 4.0.47--><p><strong>Ukraine: The Spark for a Nuclear War?<\/strong> One would think it beyond question to state that in any foreign conflict to which the U.S. is a party, the Pentagon and White House would reflexively do two things: <\/p>\n[embedded content] <\/p>\n<p>1) set objectives that benefit our country and; <\/p>\n<p>2) have a reasonable chance of success.<\/p>\n<p>It should alarm every American to learn that, unfortunately, Washington\u2019s current strategy related to the Russia-Ukraine War does neither. <\/p>\n<p>In an impromptu visit to the city of Izyum last month after Ukrainian troops had retaken the population center as part of their Kharkiv offensive, President Volodymyr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/Top_News\/World-News\/2022\/09\/14\/ukraine-russia-war-kharkiv-counteroffensive\/5261663158332\/\">Zelensky said<\/a> that his troops were marching \u201ctowards victory\u201d and that the Ukrainian flag that once again flew in Izyum would soon be flying, \u201cin every Ukrainian city and village.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two days later Biden seemed to agree with that objective, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rev.com\/blog\/transcripts\/president-joe-biden-the-2022-60-minutes-interview-transcript\">telling 60 Minutes<\/a> that \u201c(w)inning the war in Ukraine is to get Russia out of Ukraine completely and recognizing [Ukrainian] sovereignty.\u201d On Monday in response to a new wave of missiles blasting scores of Ukrainian cities, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/10\/10\/world\/europe\/biden-russia-ukraine-strikes.html\">Biden said<\/a> the attacks would \u201conly further reinforce our commitment to stand with the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s Dangerous Ukraine Strategy <\/p>\n<p>It would appear from context that Biden\u2019s \u201cas long as it takes\u201d vow means the United States will support Ukraine until Ukraine has victory, defined by driving Russia out of all territory \u2013 and therein lies America\u2019s strategic problem.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May, CIA Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2022\/5\/7\/putin-believes-he-can-not-afford-to-lose-ukraine-war-cia-chief\">William Burns said<\/a> that he thought Putin was \u201cin a frame of mind in which he doesn\u2019t believe he can afford to lose.\u201d Last month, Tobias Ellwood, Chair of the British Parliament\u2019s Defence Select Committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2022\/09\/20\/putin-cannot-afford-lose-must-prepare-war-turn-even-uglier\/\">added that<\/a> \u201cPutin is now in a corner; this is arguably when he is at his most dangerous.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Pushing into a corner the man with sole launch authority for a country that possesses the largest nuclear warhead arsenal on the planet is not a wise course of action. Yet that reality is apparently lost on some of the highest officials and retired generals in the West. <\/p>\n<p>In conjunction with his announcement that Russia would unilaterally annex portions of eastern Ukraine, Putin declared he <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-putin-moscow-nuclear-weapons-d5ad053f4e113c5ebafe26ca37fdb672\">would not hesitate<\/a> to use nuclear weapons if he believed Russian territory was threatened. The pushback from the West was understandable and immediate. It was not, however, well thought-out. <\/p>\n<p>Former General and CIA Director David <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/oct\/02\/us-russia-putin-ukraine-war-david-petraeus\">Petraeus argued<\/a> the United States should lead a NATO \u201ceffort that would take out every Russian conventional force that we can see and identify on the battlefield in\u00a0Ukraine\u00a0and also in Crimea and every ship in the Black Sea.\u201d EU Policy Chief <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/news\/6391144\/ukraine-news-war-latest-russia-putin-nuclear\/\">Josep Borrell warned<\/a> that if Russia ever used nuclear weapons in Ukraine, the collective West would respond with a \u201cpowerful answer\u201d with conventional weapons such that \u201cthe Russian Army will be annihilated.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>How A Nuclear War Could Start <\/p>\n<p>To underscore the threat to Putin\u2019s rule, the former commander of U.S. Army-Europe, <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/national\/retired-us-general-if-russia-used-nuclear-weapon-in-ukraine-us-would-have-to-get-directly-involved\">Ben Hodges said<\/a> that the West should help<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ukraine: The Spark for a Nuclear War?
