As we mourn this devastating loss, we\u2019re taking time to remember one of the most fun moments of her career, which was the crossover episodes of her hit show <em>Murder, She Wrote<\/em> with Tom Selleck\u2019s equally popular\u00a0<em>Magnum P.I.<\/em>\u00a0show in the \u201980s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Magnum, She Wrote\u2026Angela Lansbury and Tom Selleck in 1986. \ud83d\udcfa <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kZWAGn0Lbu\">pic.twitter.com\/kZWAGn0Lbu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Groovy History (@GroovyHistory) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GroovyHistory\/status\/1162263616235511812?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 16, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <strong>\u2018Murder, She Wrote\u2019 And \u2018Magnum P.I.\u2019 Crossover<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The two crossover episodes aired in November of 1986, which each show getting one of the episodes. In the <em>Magnum P.I.<\/em>\u00a0episode \u201cNovel Connection,\u201d which aired on November 19 of that year, Lansbury\u2019s character of Jessica Fletcher helped Magnum (Selleck) investigate an attempt on the life of Higgins (John Hillerman) and some of his guests.<\/p>\n<p>This episode was continued the next week in the <em>Murder, She Wrote<\/em>\u00a0episode titled \u201cMagnum On Ice,\u201d in which Jessica tried to prove Magnum innocent of some brutal murders. Check out a fun mashup of clips from this episode in the video below!<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>This crossover occurred in season 3 of <em>Murder, She Wrote<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 for which Lansbury <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001450\/awards?ref_=nm_awd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">won the Golden Globe\u00a0<\/a> for Best Actress in a Television Drama. She would ultimately take home four Golden Globes during the 12 years that the crime drama series\u00a0was on the air. The show would come to an end two years later in 1988, when Selleck decided to take a step back from Hollywood so that he could spend more time on his ranch with his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI quit \u2018<em>Magnum<\/em>,\u2019 not because I didn\u2019t like it or I was tired of it,\u201d Selleck told <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/tom-selleck-opens-up-about-life-on-his-ranch-and-choosing-family-over-fame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">People Magazine<\/a> in 2020. \u201cI was tired from it. And I wanted a three-dimensional life because I didn\u2019t have one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Describing himself as a\u00a0\u201cfairly private person,\u201d Selleck added, \u201cI\u2019ve always treasured the balance between work and time with my family.
