Effective May 3, 2021, Ms. Rison resigned from her position as Paraprofessional and Coach. New Miami Local Schools has no further comment at this time,\u201d Superintendent Rhonda Parker\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/2022\/10\/12\/ex-new-miami-coach-accused-having-sex-with-student-pleads-guilty-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a>\u00a0a local news outlet.<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown whether the victim or a different eyewitness provided the authorities with evidence against Rison.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors said they have multiple recordings of Rison begging the child not to report her to the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to the authorities,\u201d Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Sheehan\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/2022\/10\/12\/ex-new-miami-coach-accused-having-sex-with-student-pleads-guilty-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Prosecutors also charged Rison with evidence tampering and providing alcohol to a minor, but those charges were later dropped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was discovered she was in a car with the [victim] and observed, and it went from there,\u201d Butler County Prosecutor Mike Gmoser\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11316379\/Ohio-softball-coach-31-faces-years-prison-sex-17-year-old-student.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery prosecutor that I have ever known, and in every state, I have ever dealt with, takes cases involving teachers and students very seriously with respect to sexual conduct and contact,\u201d Gmoser added. \u201cWe are dealing with impressionable young minds, and along comes an adult who takes advantage of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Ashley Rison (WXIX News)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take all felonies seriously, but I think we add a little extra seriousness to these positions-of-trust type offenses,\u201d Gmoser\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11316379\/Ohio-softball-coach-31-faces-years-prison-sex-17-year-old-student.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cProsecutors can hold these people accountable to let them know we take this seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Rison\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/2022\/10\/12\/ex-new-miami-coach-accused-having-sex-with-student-pleads-guilty-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had<\/a>\u00a0only one victim, and the prosecutors are \u201cnot alleging a rape by force,\u201d according to Gmoser.<\/p>\n<p>Rison, who\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox19.com\/2022\/10\/12\/ex-new-miami-coach-accused-having-sex-with-student-pleads-guilty-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pleaded<\/a>\u00a0guilty on Wednesday to charges of sexual battery and gross sexual imposition, could spend up to 5 years in jail and may have to register as a sex offender.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan Dixon-Hamilton is a reporter for Breitbart News.
