The charges were dropped in an attempt for the Loudoun County Circuit Court to deem Colburn mentally fit to stand trial, and the suspect was slated to be given a new indictment in order to keep him in custody.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Colburn was to remain in custody on the new charge. After the hearing, Colburn was delivered to the jail and erroneously released,&#8221; Biberaj&#8217;s office wrote in a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loudoun.gov\/civicalerts.aspx?AID=7939\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>, admitting that her deputies failed to get new charges approved by a judge before dropping the old ones.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/victims-blame-soros-backed-prosecutors-deadliest-crimes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VICTIMS BLAME SOROS-BACKED PROSECUTORS FOR THE DEADLIEST CRIMES IN US CITIES<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, the Loudoun County Sheriff\u2019s Office disputed Biberaj&#8217;s account in a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loudoun.gov\/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=7936\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">separate<\/a> press release on Friday, saying that prosecutors did not file the new charges for concealment of a dead body until the following day.<\/p>\n<p>In an attempt to deflect from the sheriff&#8217;s office release, Biberaj published a statement reading: &#8220;Our office is greatly disappointed by the LCSO\u2019s recent press release that mischaracterizes the release of Colburn and their lack of accountability.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It attempts to mislead the public and unfairly shift the blame to our office,&#8221; Biberaj added.<\/p>\n<p>Following his release, Colburn was later found in Georgia after he and his parents Charles and Heather Colburn were pulled over by the Pooler Police Department. Colburn was taken into jail in Georgia, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/wrongfully-released-loudoun-county-man-caught-in-georgia-with-parents-2-year-old\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to a police report.<\/p>\n<p>Since November 2019, Biberaj has <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loudounnow.com\/news\/super-pac-pumps-659k-into-loudoun-s-commonwealth-s-attorney-s-race-whitbeck-approaches-1m\/article_968ae373-913d-5c14-9f2d-08e16f4f48e6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">received<\/a> more than $659,000 from the Justice and Public Safety Political Action Committee, a Democratic-leaning and Soros-funded super PAC based in Washington, D.C., <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/?data_type=processed&#038;committee_id=C00651505\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to Federal Election Commission reports.<\/p>\n<p>Biberaj in June was hit with a complaint by the Virginia State Bar after a circuit court judge <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/liberal-virginia-da-hit-bar-complaint-judge-booting-office-from-criminal-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removed<\/a> her from a criminal case for &#8220;deliberately misleading the Court and the public.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a local Fox affiliate <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/loudoun-county-attorneys-office-hired-a-registered-sex-offender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interviewed<\/a> a registered sex offender who was hired by Biberaj&#8217;s office and claimed he was allowed to work for her without going through a background check.<\/p><source data-image-size=\"1060x600\" \/>Loudoun County Commonwealth&#8217;s Attorney Buta Biberaj, right, speaks Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, in Leesburg, Va., about her concerns over the contempt-of-court citation issued by Circuit Judge James Fisher against a prosecution witness after the judge determined she was intoxicated on the stand while she testified in a trial against her alleged abuser.
