Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), who said: \u201cToday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-inflation\">inflation<\/a> report is the last one Americans will see before going to the polls in 26 days. The picture it paints is clear: Democrat tax and spend policies have failed this nation as inflation remains at historically high rates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKansans and all Americans are currently paying 13.5 percent more since they were when Joe Biden took office. In turn, we see lower wages, savings accounts being drained, and the cost of living more expensive across the board. The American people can no longer afford the financial anxiety and failing economic agenda of Joe Biden. To truly put an end to this crisis, we must put an end to Democrats\u2019 reign in D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his statement, Marshall pointed out that utility <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-gas-prices\">gas prices<\/a> have increased 33.1 percent for the year, while electricity prices are up 15.5 percent, transportation prices are up 14.6 percent, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-food-prices\">food prices<\/a> at home are up 13 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate Finance Committee\u2019s ranking Republican member, Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.finance.senate.gov\/ranking-members-news\/crapo-high-wholesale-price-inflation-means-more-pain-for-consumers%20\">stated<\/a>\u00a0that the new BLS report \u201csignals yet more inflationary pressures remain in the economic pipelines, which will hit consumers down the road.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInflationary policies have forced the Federal Reserve to dampen overall demand in the economy through higher interest rates, which means more debt service costs for the federal government, and higher rates on mortgages and credit balances for American families already struggling with higher food and energy costs,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cthe current administration took an economy on an impressive rebound from lockdowns, injected trillions of dollars in reckless spending, and American families and future generations will pay the price of economic mismanagement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) pointed to surging prices as making it harder for residents to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSkyrocketing inflation has been hurting Florida families every day for nearly two years. But, when times get tough, inflation becomes an unbearable kick for families trying to get back on their feet,\u201d Scott wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rickscott.senate.gov\/2022\/10\/sen-rick-scott-on-ppi-inflation-report-skyrocketing-inflation-makes-hurricane-ian-recovery-more-challenging\">statement<\/a>. \u201cMake no mistake\u2014Joe Biden\u2019s skyrocketing inflation is a huge roadblock for so many families now fighting to recover from Hurricane Ian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of Capitol Hill, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), the ranking GOP member of the House Ways and Means Committee,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gop-waysandmeans.house.gov\/brady-as-local-biz-pays-higher-prices-expect-higher-inflation-and-worsening-recession\/\">predicted<\/a>\u00a0that prices will continue going up and the economy will be in a recession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMain Street businesses continue to struggle with higher prices and there\u2019s no end in sight.
