On Thursday, autopsy results were announced, revealing that she passed away from an accidental drowning and there was no proof that foul play was involved.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis ruling is based on the pathologist\u2019s finding that her death was the result of drowning and that there was no other information to suggest she was the victim of foul play,\u201d the Nevada County Sheriff\u2019s Office <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/death-determined-missing-california-teen-found-reservoir\/story?id=91476014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The office is still working with Rodni\u2019s family \u201cby evaluating any additional information related to this investigation,\u201d it noted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Authorities previously said they were set to announce more information in November.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rodni went <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/california-teens-disappearance-being-investigated-as-abduction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missing<\/a> after a large party in Truckee, California, in August, and authorities were concerned that the teen had been <a href=\"https:\/\/fox40.com\/news\/local-news\/nevada-county-coroner-rules-kiely-rodnis-death-accidental\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abducted<\/a> since her car had also not been found. Her phone was last detected near Prosser Reservoir, but prior attempts to locate her in the area had not yielded any evidence of Rodni or the car.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When a volunteer dive team out of Oregon, called Adventures with Purpose, got <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/youtube-scuba-team-claims-they-found-the-body-of-missing-california-teen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">involved<\/a> in the case, they discovered her missing vehicle in Prosser Lake with Rodni inside. The car was flipped over 14 feet underwater.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">At the time, however, there were questions about the discovery, and the group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bPwnDyW26gk\">released<\/a> a documentary on Youtube about it. Nick Rinn, the diver who found Rodni, said the situation still didn\u2019t seem right to him after finding the teen\u2019s body.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cShe\u2019s in the back of the vehicle. She\u2019s not in the driver\u2019s seat. It looks suspicious to me,\u201d Rinn said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt was so shocking because I couldn\u2019t believe we came in after all that time and found it,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/kiely-rodni-volunteer-dive-team-found-remains-suspects-foul-play\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> Fox News Digital. \u201cIt was also a sad moment, a very emotional moment for all of us involved. No one wants to tell a parent, \u2018We found your daughter and she\u2019s not coming home.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Daniel Rodni, Kie\u0142y\u2019s father, can reportedly be heard on the documentary questioning how law enforcement didn\u2019t find the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cRight there?\u201d He asked. \u201cHow in the f*** could they have missed it?!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThey missed her because of their lack of expertise and communication,\u201d the group\u2019s lead investigator Doug Bishop told Fox News Digital of the attempts by law enforcement to find Rodni.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Bishop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/kiely-rodni-volunteer-dive-team-found-remains-suspects-foul-play\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that he didn\u2019t believe the death was an accident at the time because of other circumstances surrounding the incident. In the documentary, Bishop spoke to\u00a0a worker who had gotten a call about a dead battery in the area on August 7, hours after Rodni\u2019s phone was last detected. The man arrived and said he found a young girl and a man who were not acting normally. He also said the car didn\u2019t end up having a dead battery at all and was in the neutral gear. Officials were able to acquire surveillance video of the situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Bishop also raised questions about the location of Rodni\u2019s body in the car. The teen was found towards the back of the vehicle rather than the driver\u2019s seat, even though there were windows through which she could have possibly escaped.
