Combining all taxes together, the average Idahoan paid $1722 less in taxes in 2019 than the average Oregonian. That\u2019s averaging together every adult or child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noting the preponderance of voters in northwestern Oregon embrace leftist policies, Greater Idaho opines, \u201cThis has led to a ruling party that ignores eastern Oregon because none of our legislators are in the ruling party. \u2026 But in Idaho, our representatives would be part of the majority. 80% of the Idaho legislature is Republican, and mostly rural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOregon\u2019s state school curriculum teaches radical theories on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertyineducation.org\/blog\/oregon-crt-in-mathematics\">race<\/a>, gender, sexuality, and anti-Americanism,\u201d the website charges. \u201cOregon limits charter schools, homeschooling, and local control. Idaho\u2019s COVID mandates were only statewide for a few weeks, not two years. We\u2019re not leaving Oregon; northwestern Oregon left us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oregon\u2019s border with Washington was not finalized until the late 1950s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve proven that people in Eastern Oregon want to pursue this idea, and we\u2019re going to keep trying to get as many of those counties as possible to get on the ballot,\u201d McCaw said. \u201cBut it\u2019s time for the legislature to pick up the ball and start this discussion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCaw is confident that the movement will see success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy 2024, you could have a border moved,\u201d he said. \u201cAbsolutely.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The movement from some Oregon conservatives to push to secede and join the adjacent conservative state of Idaho is heating up.
