Many clinics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/get-care\/our-services\/transgender-hormone-therapy\">offer<\/a> cross-sex hormones for minors, and some provide puberty blockers.<\/p>\n<p>While we might not blink at such a leftist organization dabbling in the medical gender transition market, it\u2019s a significant departure from Planned Parenthood\u2019s core mission. Helping kids move toward sex changes is not clearly related to \u201cfamily planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, as Planned Parenthood\u2019s abortion business <a href=\"https:\/\/cronkitenews.azpbs.org\/2022\/06\/24\/planned-parenthood-arizona-stops-abortions-roe-v-wade-overturned\/\">reels<\/a> in the wake of\u00a0the Supreme Court\u2019s decision to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, the organization continues to take advantage of this shiny new market.<\/p>\n<p>Since the abortion provider gets more than $600 million a year in government funding, we are all effectively paying for this new enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood received $633.4 million in government funding in the year ending June 30, 2021, according to the organization\u2019s latest annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/40\/8f\/408fc2ad-c8c2-48da-ad87-be5cc257d370\/211214-ppfa-annualreport-20-21-c3-digital.pdf\">report<\/a>. The bulk of those funds comes from Medicaid reimbursements, and about $60 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/08\/19\/health\/planned-parenthood-title-x.html\">comes<\/a> from Title X family planning grants. Title X is a federal program, while Medicaid uses federal and state funds.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Planned Parenthood came <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11300415\/Planned-Parenthood-fire-cartoon-ad-pushes-puberty-blockers.html\">under fire<\/a> after critics on social media highlighted a cartoon YouTube ad about child gender transitions. The spot was initially posted to Planned Parenthood\u2019s YouTube account in January.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fpyOnR_O6Tk\">ad<\/a>, which is aimed at children, says some people take hormones or get surgeries to help their bodies match up with their gender identity. If kids are transgender or non-binary, they can take puberty blockers, which are \u201csafe\u201d and work like a \u201cstop sign,\u201d the ad says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour gender identity is real. You should be the one to decide what changes you want to make to your body,\u201d the ad tells kids.<\/p>\n<p>The ad directs children to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/teens\">teen section<\/a> of Planned Parenthood\u2019s website, which links to a slew of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/teens\/all-about-sex-gender-and-gender-identity\">material<\/a> about puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in line with leftist gender ideology.<\/p>\n<p>The LGBTQ+ page also directs kids to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qchatspace.org\/\">chat space<\/a> where teens ages 13 to 19 can chat with each other and even send pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood even encourages trans-identifying people, potentially including minors, to ask for hormones at their local clinic, even if the clinic doesn\u2019t offer them yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your closest Planned Parenthood health center doesn\u2019t offer hormone treatments and you want them to, tell them. Let them know that you\u2019re interested in this service and what it would mean for you. This goes for any service you\u2019d like to get at your local Planned Parenthood,\u201d the abortion provider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/gender-identity\/transgender\/what-do-i-need-know-about-trans-health-care\">says<\/a> on its website.<\/p>\n<p>Both puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones come with serious health risks, including infertility and weight gain. Puberty blockers can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/gender-dysphoria\/in-depth\/pubertal-blockers\/art-20459075\">affect<\/a> bone growth and density, and cross-sex hormones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/tests-procedures\/masculinizing-hormone-therapy\/about\/pac-20385099\">can<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/tests-procedures\/feminizing-hormone-therapy\/about\/pac-20385096\">cause<\/a> blood clots, diabetes, strokes, heart problems, high blood pressure, and male-pattern baldness, as well as increase the risk of breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Monica Cline, a former Planned Parenthood sex educator, said Planned Parenthood \u201cintentionally\u201d leaves parents out of the gender identity conversation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Planned Parenthood trained me as a Title X Sex-Ed Educator, I was specifically taught that parents are a barrier to service and they should never be brought into the conversation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParents need to wake up and talk to their kids about intimacy, about how they feel growing up and the new things their bodies are doing and to be a part of their children\u2019s lives because if they don\u2019t, then Planned Parenthood will,\u201d Cline said.<\/p>\n<p>Parents across the country have begun to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/11\/meet-the-parents-of-trans-kids-fighting-gender-cult\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">push back<\/a> against hormone and surgical gender interventions for kids, and some states have already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/investigates\/special-report\/usa-transyouth-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved<\/a> to restrict hormone treatments.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime though, Planned Parenthood\u00a0is cashing in.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Planned Parenthood has gone all in on child gender transition services, which means you are paying for them.
