We\u2019ve asked multiple times for medical records, we\u2019ve asked for interviews with someone from his medical team, those requests have so far been denied to NBC News and other outlets that have requested this as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">John Fetterman sat down with NBC News for an interview tonight. He had to used closed captioning during the interview, the reporter says he had trouble speaking in the &#8220;small talk&#8221; before the captioning was on, and Fetterman&#8217;s team is refusing to give them his medical records. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Y6tDhYMEPB\">pic.twitter.com\/Y6tDhYMEPB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1579919274931810305?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Burns responded to left-of-center reporters who criticized the interview by saying Wednesday morning on NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d that, according to Fetterman\u2019s campaign, \u201cOur team was the first to be in the room with Fetterman for an interview rather than via remote video conference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Online, critics and pundits made note of how serious Fetterman\u2019s condition is and how the media had already rapidly changed the narrative around him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook at Fetterman glancing over at his computer to read the reporter\u2019s Qs he can\u2019t process audibly and then get the answers,\u201d said Steven Law, CEO of the Senate Leadership Fund. \u201cThis guy\u2019s in bad shape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>David Harsanyi, senior editor at The Federalist, wrote: \u201cIt went from \u2018there\u2019s absolutely nothing wrong with Fetterman\u2019 to \u2018how dare you attack the disabled\u2019 in a few hours. It\u2019s amazing how quickly a talking point coalesces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s not \u2018disabled,\u2019 he has an ailment. It\u2019s impaired his cognitive abilities. If the guy was in a coma, dems would still come up with some bs reason to vote for him, b\/c, just like republicans, they care a lot more about winning than the competency of candidates,\u201d he continued. \u201cIn many ways, Fetterman\u2019s stroke has actually help divert attention from his incompetence and fringe positions.
