Every six months, they look down at the next six months and say what\u2019s going to happen. It hasn\u2019t happened yet. It hasn\u2019t\u2014there has\u2014there\u2019s no guarantee that there\u2019s going to be a\u2014I don\u2019t think there will be a recession,\u201d the president said, adding that if there\u2019ll be one, \u201cit\u2019ll be a very slight recession\u2014that is, we\u2019ll move down slightly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden was responding to a question by CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper, who asked the president if Americans should prepare for a recession following JPMorgan Chase\u00a0CEO\u00a0Jamie Dimon\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/this-is-serious-jpmorgan-chase-ceo-warns-us-recession-coming-in-6-to-9-months_4786606.html\">recent warning<\/a> that the United States is likely going to head into recession territory in the next six to nine months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, think about what\u2019s happened. We have done more\u2014we are in a better position than any other major country in the world, economically and politically,\u201d Biden said, further explaining\u00a0that his $1.9 trillion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/janet-yellen-bidens-spending-did-feed-inflation_4447166.html\">\u201cAmerican Rescue Plan,\u201d<\/a> which was the fiscal stimulus and COVID-19 relief package, as well as the Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/inflation-reduction-act-should-be-named-exactly-the-opposite-will-have-disastrous-effects-finance-professor_4663592.html\">\u201cInflation Reduction Act,\u201d<\/a> have helped position the economy and reduce inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook what we\u2019ve got done,\u201d Biden boasted. \u201cWe passed so much legislation that significantly makes a point \u2026 I mean, there\u2019s so much that\u2019s been accomplished that the idea that there\u2019s something\u2014there\u2019s an automaticity to recession is just not there.
