Nissan, which will lose \u00a5100 billion, or $686 million, as the company is sold for \u20ac1, has the option to repurchase its operations within the next six years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of Nissan, I thank our Russian colleagues for their contribution to the business over many years,\u201d Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida remarked in a <a href=\"https:\/\/global.nissannews.com\/en\/releases\/release-6abd4a8e75beb22ffeb7e814ac14b9a3-221011-01-e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cWhile we cannot continue operating in the market, we have found the best possible solution to support our people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nissan does not expect an impact on its full-year earnings guidance as a result of the sale since the company did not assume any activity in the market over the course of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>More than 1,000 companies in the West have announced that they are decreasing operations within Russia beyond the extent required by international sanctions, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/som.yale.edu\/story\/2022\/over-1000-companies-have-curtailed-operations-russia-some-remain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> from the Yale School of Management. Nike, Goldman Sachs, Apple, IBM, and McDonald\u2019s are among the American companies that have pulled out of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The report comes as Russia and Ukraine appear to have increased hostilities. Some 83 missiles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/putin-unleashes-fierce-border-to-border-missile-blitz-on-ukraine-following-bridge-attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rained down<\/a> on Ukrainian cities earlier this week, including several that struck the capital city of Kyiv, where at least eight people were killed and projectiles made impact blocks from President Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s office building. The coordinated blitz appeared to be retaliation for a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/key-bridge-spanning-russia-crimea-blown-up-in-likely-suicide-bombing-on-putins-birthday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bombing<\/a> of the Kerch Bridge, which connects mainland Russia to Crimea. The attack targeted fuel cells along the roadway and sent portions of the bridge falling into the Sea of Azov.<\/p>\n<p>Russia reclaimed the Crimean peninsula eight years ago in a highly controversial move that involved nuclear threats and an escalated military presence. The destruction of the bridge provoked Russian President Vladimir Putin to accuse Ukraine of bringing harm upon the nonmilitary population. \u201cThere is no doubt,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is an act of terrorism aimed at destroying critically important civilian infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky led his nation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-ukraine-applies-for-nato-membership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apply<\/a> for NATO membership last month once Putin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/putin-informs-russian-parliament-plan-annex-ukrainian-regions-2022-09-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> that he would annex the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine after residents voted to join Russia.
