Version: 4.0.47--><div><\/div>\n<p>The same companies that rushed post-<em>Dobbs<\/em> to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/28\/companies-eager-to-subsidize-abortion-because-they-think-only-childless-women-are-profitable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subsidize abortion for employees<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/24\/woke-corporate-shows-contempt-for-women-by-subsidizing-abortions-and-cutting-maternity-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cut maternity leave<\/a> because they believe childless women are more profitable than mothers are now scrambling to cover the cost of expensive assisted reproductive technology for their staff. <\/p>\n<p>Walmart, which has previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/walmart-expands-abortion-coverage-employees-rcna44063\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">touted<\/a> ending life in the womb, recently promised to join a host of other <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/walmart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">notoriously<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">woke<\/a> companies such as Amazon in sponsoring procedures such as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/05\/kourtney-kardashian-barker-stops-ivf-after-discovering-it-really-took-a-toll-on-my-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in vitro fertilization<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/25\/as-reproductive-technology-advances-remember-just-because-we-can-doesnt-mean-we-should\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">serial embryo creation, embryo storage<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/05\/when-sperm-and-eggs-are-monetized-human-existence-becomes-transactional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">egg freezing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/26\/big-fertility-harms-babies-and-women-so-why-are-we-celebrating-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">surrogacy<\/a>, and possibly adoption for its 1.6 million employees and some eligible family members. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWalmart workers, their spouse or partner, and any adult dependent children who are enrolled in a Walmart-sponsored medical plan will each receive up to $20,000 in medical benefits towards fertility treatments in a lifetime,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/health-gender-identity-adoption-4aceaeada3f1b2471d894e49f9f3a4d7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Associated Press reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to fertility companies and business experts quoted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/10\/11\/fertility-benefit-reproductive-health-labor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Axios<\/a>, this expansion is supposed to \u201cimprove employee retention rates,\u201d \u201cattract new talent,\u201d and \u201crecruit and retain a \u2018diverse workforce.\u2019\u201d In other words, big box stores like Walmart aren\u2019t just offering these services to married men and women who cannot conceive naturally. They are also pandering to single individuals and LGBT couples who want to use the biological matter of other men and women and possibly the womb of another woman to create and birth children.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the negative sociological implications this has on children, who <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.1177\/000312240707200203\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studies say<\/a> are better off being raised by a married, biological mother and father, Walmart specifically chose to partner with New-York based fertility startup Kindbody. According to the company\u2019s own website, Kindbody gladly manufactures motherless and fatherless children for LGBT couples.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that everyone should have access to convenient, affordable fertility and family-building care,\u201d the Kindbody website <a href=\"https:\/\/kindbody.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">states<\/a>. \u201cOur services range from fertility treatments, including IVF and egg freezing, to wellness, and LGBTQ+ care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Companies like Walmart are now proudly paying between 1.3 percent and 6 percent more in medical expenses for the deliberate creation of children who will automatically grow up with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/futureofchildren.princeton.edu\/sites\/futureofchildren\/files\/foc_vol_30_no_1_combined_v6.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">physical, emotional, and educational disadvantages<\/a>\u00a0compared to their peers who were raised by their biological parents. Similarly, adults who use the commercial fertility industry to create children using donated gametes and a gestational carrier\u00a0automatically manufacture <a href=\"https:\/\/fluxconsole.com\/files\/item\/441\/56197\/My-Daddys-Name-is-Donor-Full-Study.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a biological distance<\/a>\u00a0between themselves and the baby they commission.<\/p>\n<p>Legal disputes over whether companies should pay for their employees\u2019 reproductive technology are increasing. Earlier this month, a gay couple announced they would be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/05\/gay-couple-in-nyc-demands-taxpayers-fund-creation-of-motherless-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suing<\/a>\u00a0the New York City government because, under the Big Apple\u2019s current insurance policy, they did not qualify for fertility treatments such as in vitro fertilization and surrogacy. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
