Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sara Haines notes the Biden admin. hasn&#8217;t done more than talk about the border.<br \/>Sunny Hostin claims the talk is enough and suggests state governors should be trying to fix the problem. She also says the only reason it&#8217;s an issue is because the GOP &#8216;misjudged the abortion debate.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zAerwNIpIF\">pic.twitter.com\/zAerwNIpIF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NickFondacaro\/status\/1579855249438670849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cohost Sara Haines began the conversation with a question about illegal immigration \u2014 noting that it had certainly been a problem through multiple administrations \u2014 and she voiced her frustration that despite all the talk and promises, no one in either party ever appeared to do anything about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they are doing something, what I wish I could hear right now is just, \u2018Hey, this is really complicated, but here are a few things we\u2019ve done,&#8217;\u201d Haines said. \u201cAm I missing something? Because it feels like the administration\u2019s that get in there, they all dodge, they get in there saying they want to work on immigration, then no one talks about it and we\u2019re all like, \u2018we all agree it\u2019s a problem\u2019 \u2014 what am I missing there?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin pushed back, arguing that the immigration problem was really former President Donald Trump\u2019s fault. \u201cHe was separating families and having children sleep on floors,\u201d she said, adding that the only reason it had become an issue again was that Republican governors had started busing migrants to self-proclaimed sanctuary cities.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin then claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris was managing the situation, touting her visit to the border (she visited El Paso, Texas \u2014 some 400 miles from the constantly overwhelmed Del Rio sector) as well as her visit to some of the countries where many of the migrants were coming from.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I reject the framing that the issue here really is about immigration and that the issue here is about inflation,\u201d Hostin continued. \u201cBecause that\u2019s a Republican framing. Really the issue here is that the Republicans misjudged the abortion debate. They misjudged it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But according to the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/polling-institute\/reports\/monmouthpoll_us_100322\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monmouth University poll<\/a>, it\u2019s Hostin who misjudged which issues are truly important to American voters. The latest data suggests that inflation is, in fact, the top issue concerning voters: 82% said that inflation was \u201cextremely or very important\u201d and only 30% approved of the way that President Joe Biden has handled it.<\/p>\n<p>Crime, elections and voting, jobs and unemployment, immigration, and infrastructure were all ranked as more important that abortion access.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe View\u201d host Sunny Hostin claimed on Tuesday that inflation was little more than a Republican talking point being used to distract people from the real issues facing Americans \u2014 like abortion.
