Musk, however, has since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-elon-musk-proposes-twitter-buyout-at-54-20-per-share-trading-halted-as-stock-price-soars\">revived<\/a> his efforts to purchase the company.<\/p>\n<p>Dimon, considered one of the most influential executives on Wall Street, said during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/10\/11\/jamie-dimon-says-musk-should-clean-up-twitter-echoes-bot-concerns.html\">interview<\/a> with CNBC that Musk is justified in his concerns about fake accounts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope Musk cleans up Twitter \u2026 Why can\u2019t Twitter know who you are when you come on board, so they can eliminate all those people in the public square who are robots and emails and stuff like that?\u201d Dimon remarked. \u201cWhy can\u2019t they give you a choice of algorithms, as opposed to one that just jazzes you up?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk and Dimon have clashed for years despite repeated attempts to mend their relationship, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/jpmorgans-jamie-dimon-and-teslas-elon-musk-feud-behind-the-scenes-11637586001\">report<\/a> from The Wall Street Journal. However, Dimon offered praise for the Tesla and SpaceX chief executive amid his merger negotiations: \u201cIn my view, Elon is very smart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of a trial initially set to begin on October 17, attorneys representing Twitter had contested Musk\u2019s rationale for passing on the $44 billion deal by producing text messages he sent to Michael Grimes, an executive at investment bank Morgan Stanley, indicating that he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/musk-afraid-of-world-war-iii-so-he-slowed-down-deal-twitter-argues\">concerned<\/a> about macroeconomic conditions stemming from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. \u201cLet\u2019s slow down just a few days. Putin speech tomorrow is extremely important,\u201d Musk said. \u201cIt won\u2019t make sense to buy Twitter if we\u2019re heading into World War III.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond his concern about fake accounts, however, Musk has voiced criticism over lackluster support on the platform for free expression. He began his shakeup campaign several months ago with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-elon-musk-becomes-twitters-largest-shareholder-after-shakeup-tease\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> for his millions of followers: \u201cFree speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle? The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twitter has been known to suspend or entirely remove accounts expressing conservative views, especially over remarks about controversial social issues. Libs of TikTok, a popular account that reposts videos from radical leftist activists, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/libs-of-tiktok-locked-out-of-twitter-again\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">locked out<\/a> of Twitter two months ago for a \u201chateful conduct\u201d warning. The Babylon Bee, a Christian satire website, was suspended earlier this year for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-locks-out-babylon-bee-over-rachel-levine-tweet-the-bee-responds-truth-is-not-hate-speech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mocking<\/a> transgender Biden administration health official Rachel Levine.
