Especially since the U.S. Department of State has <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/traveladvisories\/traveladvisories\/ukraine-travel-advisory.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ordered<\/a> Americans \u201cnot travel to Ukraine due to Russian military invasion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the AFT, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/press-release\/afts-weingarten-dr-irwin-redlener-visit-ukraine-meet-students-and-teachers-displaced\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sponsored the trip<\/a>, Weingarten\u2019s presence in Ukraine is supposed to \u201coffer solidarity and support in the face of relentless attacks that have forced hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee the country\u2019s east.\u201d \u202f\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Frankly, that\u2019s not a good enough reason to be gung-ho about celebrities such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/ben-stiller-angelina-jolie-sean-penn-liev-schreiber-visit-ukraine-volodymyr-zelenskyy-russia-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ben Stiller, Angelina Jolie, Sean Penn, Liev Schreiber<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/in-the-know\/3598333-hollywood-stars-draw-spotlight-and-criticism-with-ukraine-visits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jessica Chastain<\/a>, and now leftist pawns such as Weingarten making the dangerous pilgrimage East with the hopes that they can \u201cmake a difference\u201d in Ukraine. These American civilians have no business traveling to Eastern Europe in the midst of a conflict that is teetering on the edge of <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/putin-hinting-using-nuclear-weapons-195300327.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nuclear war<\/a>, even if they are just trying to \u201cdo something\u201d beyond putting the performative blue and yellow flag in their Twitter bios. <\/p>\n<p>Already, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/lindsey-graham-and-elon-musk-feuding-twitter-ukraine-war-2022-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/oct\/02\/us-russia-putin-ukraine-war-david-petraeus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warmongers<\/a> including <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/07\/its-biden-threatening-nuclear-armageddon-after-six-years-of-media-freakout-over-trump-tweets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">President Joe Biden<\/a> have threatened escalation if Russia continues its rampage in the East. The last thing the United States needs after funneling more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/congress\/2022\/09\/16\/how-a-republican-rift-on-ukraine-could-complicate-future-aid-packages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$67 billion<\/a> to the Volodymyr Zelensky regime without any accountability or oversight is to have an American injured or dead thanks to their reckless travel. There\u2019s no doubt that any incident of consequence would be used as an excuse to take U.S. involvement from proxy war to direct conflict. <\/p>\n<p>In a video posted by the AFT on Monday, Weingarten confirmed that she has decided to remain in Lviv despite an increased risk of danger and death to continue showing \u201csolidarity\u201d for the Ukrainians. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not going to let Putin get away with terrorizing people,\u201d Weingarten pledged.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"g7oOL\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">AFT President <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rweingarten?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@rweingarten<\/a> is in Ukraine today at the invitation of the Ukrainian teachers union. That\u2019s problematic largely because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisondurkee\/2022\/03\/16\/americans-overwhelmingly-dont-want-us-to-risk-war-with-russia-in-aiding-ukraine-poll-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an overwhelming number of Americans<\/a>, such as myself, don\u2019t want to be involved in what could quickly become World War III.<\/p>\n<p>Under normal circumstances, I would celebrate Weingarten\u2019s distance from the American teachers and schools she lives to indoctrinate with leftist propaganda.
