This time, she\u2019s denying that it\u2019s possible to know when pregnancy officially begins. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe arbitrary standards of timelines ignore the medical reality that it is a fallacy we know exactly when the pregnancy starts, that we know exactly where we are in the system, I mean, in the term,\u201d Abrams told Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"hva3IWxAqVlN0uCObp45iB6XkLmczS7JPtHr89eofETMGRYgKyZwjnUsQ2\"><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As modern science, <a href=\"https:\/\/acpeds.org\/position-statements\/when-human-life-begins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">medicine<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/strategic-plan\/2022-2026\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> the federal government<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/21pdf\/19-1392_6j37.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many states<\/a> have determined, this is blatantly false. <\/p>\n<p>For decades,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epm.org\/resources\/2011\/Apr\/27\/when-does-life-begin-quotes-many-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">medical textbooks<\/a>\u00a0have recognized that life begins at conception, which is classified as the moment an egg, produced by a woman, is fertilized by sperm, produced by a man.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The zygote] results from the union of an oocyte and a sperm. A zygote is the beginning of a new human being. Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm \u2026 unites with a female gamete or oocyte \u2026 to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual,\u201d Dr. Keith L. Moore wrote in \u201cThe Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion supplier in the U.S. and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodaction.org\/pressroom\/stacey-abrams-is-a-fighter-for-all-georgians\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proud supporter<\/a> of Abrams\u2019 first gubernatorial campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/how-pregnancy-happens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concedes<\/a> that \u201cPregnancy officially starts when a fertilized egg implants in the lining of the uterus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That didn\u2019t stop <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/23\/stacey-abrams-election-denier-also-denies-she-supported-defunding-police-fact-check-she-did\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">serial denier<\/a> Abrams, however, from using her erroneous claim to promote her unlimited abortion agenda. <\/p>\n<p>When Bream asked the Georgia candidate whether she supports any restrictions on abortion, Abrams, much like other <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/18\/these-vulnerable-dems-wont-say-if-they-support-unpopular-unfettered-abortion-but-theyve-backed-it-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vulnerable Democrat candidates in key races<\/a>, refused to outright acknowledge that she wants unlimited abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always said that abortion is a medical decision that should be made by a doctor and the woman and that the point of viability as determined by a doctor should always take into consideration the life and health of a woman. That should be the standard,\u201d Abrams said. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/americans-support-abortion-restrictions-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Most voters, including half of Democrats<\/a>, want to limit abortion to the first trimester of pregnancy, but that hasn\u2019t discouraged Abrams from <a href=\"https:\/\/staceyabrams.com\/policy\/health-care\/#reproductive-freedom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bragging<\/a> on her campaign website about repealing Georgia\u2019s six-week abortion ban and rejecting any \u201clegislation that would further restrict abortion rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abrams, who also wants to <a href=\"https:\/\/staceyabrams.com\/policy\/health-care\/#reproductive-freedom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">defund crisis pregnancy centers<\/a> because she wrongly says they \u201cdo not provide medically accurate information to women who are pregnant,\u201d recently denied that unborn babies have heartbeats. <\/p>\n<p>Instead of correcting Abrams\u2019 false claims that in utero heartbeats as detected by ultrasound technology are \u201cmanufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman\u2019s body,\u201d Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/23\/planned-parenthood-scrubs-preborn-heartbeat-milestone-from-its-website-in-lockstep-with-science-denier-stacey-abrams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">replaced<\/a> the six-week heartbeat milestone on its website with \u201ccardiac activity\u201d that \u201csounds like a heartbeat on an ultrasound.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
