Adios. \u201d<br \/>\u2014 Elvis Presley <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lXW6zZI72y\">pic.twitter.com\/lXW6zZI72y<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 J.J.\u2728\ufe0f (@alexanjk1123) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexanjk1123\/status\/1571187789743493120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 17, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>\u2018Do You Believe God Forgives Us?\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Billy told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/elvis-presley-stepbrother-says-spoke-gods-forgiveness-before-death\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> that he and Elvis were spending time together on April 14, 1977, and the singer was demonstrating his new karate knives when the two stepbrothers began playfully sparring that ended up in the musician\u2019s younger brother hurting his finger in the commotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe saw that he hit me, so he immediately dropped the knives, grabbed my finger and walked me to the bathroom,\u201d Billy recalled with a laugh. \u201cWe were standing by the sink, facing this huge mirror. Here was Elvis, making a big deal out of this, like he was going to have to do surgery or something. When Billy began working for Elvis on the road, one of his tasks was to always carry his Bible when he was performing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people don\u2019t realize that after every show, he would unwind by singing gospel songs until the sun came up,\u201d Billy explained. \u201cHe was in touch with the Lord. A lot of people said, \u2018Well, he did this and that.\u2019 [But] we all fall short. We\u2019re all human. As Christians, most of us live under a magnifying glass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, Elvis lived under a microscope because he was a big star,\u201d he added. \u201cIt was tough. But the way I like to put it is\u2026 [he] had the devil on one shoulder and God on the other. I think the biggest thing everybody has a problem with is forgiveness. But God forgives. All you have to do is ask for it. But we have a hard time forgiving ourselves. Elvis often spoke about how God forgives us. He took great comfort in that\u2026 Once you start believing Jesus came and died for your sins, your actions will change. You will try to stop doing the things that aren\u2019t good for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe would tell me, \u2018Billy\u2026 if we focus on helping somebody else\u2026 it\u2019s good for your soul to do that,&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cThe Bible says the Lord loves a generous giver and [Elvis] was the most generous giver I\u2019ve ever met. Whenever you\u2019re feeling lonely or feeling like nobody loves you\u2026 you see that the devil\u2019s playground is your mind. But helping somebody else? It takes away all that self-doubt and fears you have going on in your life. That\u2019s what we\u2019re all put here on this Earth for. He was a true patriot.
